Om Birla

♦ Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla inaugurated the first national conference of Parliamentary and Legislative Committees on Empowerment of Women in Tirupati on 14 September 2025. ♦ The conference will bringing together leaders from across the country to deliberate on policy, representation, and challenges faced by women in the age of technology. ♦ The first such Conference of Committees on Empowerment of Women in Tirupati marks a renewed national dialogue on women’s empowerment, with a focus on equipping women to lead in the age of technological change.

Research and ratings firm Crisil

♦ Research and ratings firm Crisil said that the headline inflation during 2025-26 is projected to be 3.2 percent, lower than its earlier estimate of 3.5 percent. ♦ In its latest report, Crisil said that the moderation implies a decline of 140 basis points in CPI inflation during this financial year, which is likely to give space for monetary easing. ♦ It said the RBI may cut rates by another 25 basis points this year. ♦ CPI inflation inched up to 2.1 percent in August 2025, from 1.6 per cent in July, moving above the RBI tolerance threshold of two percent.

Coast Guard Global Summit

♦ India has won the bid to host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit in 2027. ♦ The announcement was made at 4th Coast Guard Global Summit in Rome, Italy. ♦ A two-member Indian ICG delegation, led by Director General ICG Paramesh Sivamani delivered a lecture titled ‘Guardians Against the Blaze: ICG’s Tactical Response to Fire Emergencies’, showcasing India’s expertise and constructive role in advancing maritime safety and security.  ♦ The summit attended by delegates from 115 countries and international organisations was co-chaired by Italy & Japan and emphasised on collective approaches to safeguarding the global ocean environment.  ♦ The event provided a platform to share best practices in Maritime Safety, Marine Environment Protection, emergency response to pollution incidents, natural disasters, marine accidents, and Maritime Security.  ♦ First convened in 2017 by the Japan Coast Guard and the Nippon Foundation, the CGGS has evolved into a vital mechanism for dialogue and confidence-building. ♦ For the 4th edition, Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, and the Prime Minister of Japan, Shigeru Ishiba (virtually), highlighted the importance of Coast Guard collaboration in Marine Pollution Response, Maritime Search and Rescue, and Maritime Law Enforcement.

Androth

♦ The Indian Navy has received an indigenously-built anti-submarine warfare ship 'Androth' on 13 September 2025. ♦ This is expected to boost its maritime prowess against the backdrop of China's growing forays into the Indian Ocean.  ♦ ‘Androth’ is the second of the eight anti-submarine warfare-shallow watercraft (ASW-SWC), has been built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata. ♦ The ASW-SWC ships are being inducted into the Navy to strengthen its anti-submarine and coastal surveillance capabilities. ♦ The name ‘Androth’ holds strategic and symbolic significance as it is derived from the Androth Island in the Lakshadweep archipelago, underscoring India’s commitment to safeguarding its vast maritime territories. ♦ These ships at approximately 77-metre length are the largest Indian Naval warships propelled by a diesel engine-waterjet combination and are equipped with state-of-the-art lightweight torpedoes and indigenous anti-submarine warfare rockets.

♦ Indian shooter Esha Singh won a gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2025 in Ningbo, the People’s Republic of China, on 13 September 2025. ♦ Esha scored 242.6 in the final. ♦ China's Yao Qianxun won silver medal with a score of 242.5. ♦ Olympic record holder Oh Yejin (220.7 score) of the Republic of Korea claimed the bronze medal.

సీఈఎస్‌సీఆర్‌ అధ్యక్షురాలిగా ప్రీతిసరన్‌

ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి ఆర్థిక, సామాజిక, సాంస్కృతిక హక్కుల కమిటీ(సీఈఎస్‌సీఆర్‌) అధ్యక్షురాలిగా మాజీ దౌత్యవేత్త ప్రీతిసరన్‌ ఎన్నికయ్యారు. సీఈఎస్‌సీఆర్‌ అనేది సభ్యదేశాల ఆర్థిక, సామాజిక హక్కులపై అంతర్జాతీయ ఒప్పందాల అమలును పర్యవేక్షించే బాధ్యత కలిగిన ఐరాస కీలక సంస్థ. ఇది ఐరాస మానవహక్కుల పరిపాలనా విభాగం నియంత్రణలో పనిచేస్తుంది. ఇండియన్‌ ఫారిన్‌ సర్వీసులో 36 సంవత్సరాలు విశిష్ట సేవలందించిన సరన్‌ భారత్‌లో వివిధ హోదాల్లో పనిచేశారు.

ఏడీబీ ఈడీగా లొల్ల సత్యశ్రీనివాస్‌

ఆసియా అభివృద్ధి బ్యాంకు (ఏడీబీ) కార్యనిర్వాహక సంచాలకుడి (ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్‌ డైరెక్టర్‌-ఈడీ)గా భారత్‌ తరఫున లొల్ల సత్యశ్రీనివాస్‌ 2025, సెప్టెంబరు 14న నియమితులయ్యారు. ఈయన ఏపీకి చెందిన 1991 బ్యాచ్‌ ఐఆర్‌ఎస్‌ అధికారి. ఆయన స్వస్థలం గుంటూరు. శ్రీనివాస్‌ ప్రస్తుతం కేంద్ర వాణిజ్యశాఖలో ప్రత్యేక కార్యదర్శిగా ఉన్నారు. ఆయన్ను ఏడీబీ ఈడీగా నియమించాలని కేంద్ర నియామక వ్యవహారాల క్యాబినెట్‌ నిర్ణయించింది.

ప్రపంచ బాక్సింగ్‌ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌

ప్రపంచ బాక్సింగ్‌ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లో మీనాక్షి, జైస్మీన్‌ పసిడి పతకాలు నెగ్గారు. 2025, సెప్టెంబరు 14న లివర్‌పుల్‌లో జరిగిన 57 కేజీల తుదిపోరులో జైస్మీన్‌ 4-1తో పారిస్‌ ఒలింపిక్స్‌ రజత పతక విజేత జూలియా జెరెమెటా (పోలెండ్‌)ను ఓడించింది. 48 కేజీల ఫైనల్లో మీనాక్షి 4-1తో మూడుసార్లు ప్రపంచ ఛాంపియన్‌ నజమ్‌ కిజైబి (కజకిస్థాన్‌)పై నెగ్గింది.

దేశంలోనే తొలిసారి చట్టసభల మహిళా సాధికార కమిటీ

దేశంలోనే తొలిసారి చట్టసభల మహిళా సాధికార కమిటీల జాతీయ సదస్సును 2025, సెప్టెంబరు 14న లోక్‌సభ స్పీకర్‌ ఓం బిర్లా తిరుపతిలో ప్రారంభించారు. తిరుపతి జిల్లా తిరుచానూరు సమీపంలోని రాహుల్‌ కన్వెన్షన్‌ సెంటర్‌లో రెండు రోజులపాటు ఇది జరుగుతుంది. గతంలో ఆయా రాష్ట్రాలు/ కేంద్రపాలిత ప్రాంతాల కమిటీలు సంబంధిత ప్రాంతాల్లోనే సమావేశమయ్యేవి. ఇందుకు భిన్నంగా లోక్‌సభ, రాజ్యసభ, అసెంబ్లీలకు సంబంధించిన వివిధ కమిటీల సమావేశాలను వేర్వేలు రాష్ట్రాల్లో నిర్వహించి అందరి అభిప్రాయాలను తీసుకోవాలని లోక్‌సభ స్పీకర్‌ ఓం బిర్లా నిర్ణయించారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలోనే అంచనాల కమిటీ జాతీయ సమావేశం ముంబయి (మహారాష్ట్ర)లో, ఎస్సీ, ఎస్టీల సంక్షేమ కమిటీల సదస్సు భువనేశ్వర్‌ (ఒడిశా)లో నిర్వహించారు.

2025-26లో ద్రవ్యోల్బణం 3.2%

ప్రస్తుత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరం (2025-26)లో ద్రవ్యోల్బణం 3.2 శాతంగా నమోదు కావొచ్చని రిసెర్చ్‌ అండ్‌ రేటింగ్‌ సంస్థ క్రిసిల్‌ అంచనా వేసింది. గతంలో అంచనా వేసిన 3.5 శాతం నుంచి 3.2 శాతానికి కుదించింది. వినియోగదారు ధరల ఆధారిత సూచీ (సీపీఐ) ద్రవ్యోల్బణం 140 బేసిస్‌ పాయింట్లు తగ్గే అవకాశం ఉందని తెలిపింది. దీంతో ద్రవ్య పరపతి విధానాన్ని సులభతరం చేసేందుకు రిజర్వ్‌ బ్యాంక్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఇండియా (ఆర్‌బీఐ) చర్యలు తీసుకోవచ్చని పేర్కొంది.  2025 ఆగస్టులో సీపీఐ ద్రవ్యోల్బణం 2.1 శాతంగా నమోదైంది. జులైలో ఇది 1.6 శాతంగా ఉంది.
