Third edition of the India-France AI Policy

♦ The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (OPSA) to the Government of India, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Consulate General of France in Bengaluru, organised the third edition of the India–France AI Policy Roundtable at IISc on 7 November 2025. ♦ The event was held as part of the pre-summit series leading up to the AI Impact Summit 2026, which will be hosted by India. ♦ The roundtable continued the Track 1.5 dialogue series on AI policy cooperation between India and France, following earlier sessions held in Bengaluru and Paris. ♦ Discussions focused on advancing collaboration in key areas such as AI infrastructure, industry partnerships, research cooperation, and responsible AI governance, reflecting a shared vision of equitable access to AI resources and inclusive innovation. ♦ The session was co-chaired by Anne Bouverot, Special Envoy of the President of the French Republic for Artificial Intelligence, and Amit A. 150 years of its National Song

♦ On 7 November 2025, India marks a historic cultural milestone, celebrating 150 years of its National Song, Vande Mataram—a hymn that has inspired generations with its message of devotion, unity, and patriotism. ♦ Composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee on November 7,1875, and was later incorporated into Anandamath, published in 1882. ♦ The song was first sung by Rabindranath Tagore at the 1896 Indian National Congress session in Calcutta. ♦ Its political significance emerged during the Swadeshi and anti-partition movements in Bengal, with the slogan Vande Mataram first raised publicly on August 7 1905 by thousands of students in Kolkata. ♦ The song’s appeal quickly spread beyond Bengal, becoming a unifying anthem for the burgeoning nationalist movement across India. ♦ In 1950, the Constituent Assembly of India officially recognized Vande Mataram as the National Song, honoring it alongside Jana Gana Mana, the National Anthem.

శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలోని భౌతికశాస్త్ర విశ్రాంత ఆచార్యుడు రాజూరు రామకృష్ణారెడ్డి యునైటెడ్‌ కింగ్‌డమ్‌లోని ‘రాయల్‌ సొసైటీ ఆఫ్‌ కెమిస్ట్రీ’ అనే సంస్థ ఫెలోగా ఎంపికయ్యారు. ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా 55 వేల మంది ఇందులో సభ్యులుగా ఉంటారు. అసాధారణ పరిశోధనలు చేసిన శాస్త్రవేత్తలకు ఇందులో చోటు దక్కుతుంది. సైద్ధాంతిక, భౌతిక, పర్యావరణ శాస్త్రాల్లో రామకృష్ణారెడ్డి పరిశోధనలు గావించారు. ఆయా రంగాల్లో 244 పరిశోధన ప్రతులు, గూగుల్‌ సైటేషన్స్‌ 6439, ఐ10 ఇండెక్స్‌ 125, హెచ్‌ ఇండెక్స్‌ 45 పొందారు.

చైనా అమ్ములపొదిలోకి మూడో విమానవాహక నౌక

ఫుజియాన్‌ పేరుతో తన మూడో విమానవాహక నౌకను చైనా లాంఛనంగా నేవీలో చేర్చింది. పూర్తిగా స్వదేశీ పరిజ్ఞానంతో చేసిన ఈ విమానవాహక నౌకను చైనా అధ్యక్షుడు జిన్‌పింగ్‌ హైనాన్‌ ప్రావిన్స్‌లోని సాన్య రేవు వద్ద ప్రారంభించారు. ఫుజియాన్‌లో విద్యుదయస్కాంత (ఎలక్ట్రోమ్యాగ్నెటిక్‌ ఎయిర్‌క్రాఫ్ట్‌ లాంచ్‌ సిస్టమ్‌- ఈమాల్స్‌) వ్యవస్థను ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. విమాన వాహకనౌక డెక్‌ నుంచి యుద్ధవిమానాలను వేగంగా, సాఫీగా నింగిలోకి పంపడానికి ఇది ఉపయోగపడుతంది. ఇలాంటి వ్యవస్థ.. అమెరికాకు చెందిన ఎయిర్‌క్రాఫ్ట్‌ క్యారియర్‌ యూఎస్‌ఎస్‌ జెరల్డ్‌ ఆర్‌ ఫోర్డ్‌లో మాత్రమే ఉంది.

జీఈతో హెచ్‌ఏఎల్‌ ఒప్పందం

దేశీయంగా రూపొందించిన తేలికపాటి యుద్ధవిమానం ‘తేజస్‌’ కోసం 113 జెట్‌ ఇంజిన్ల కొనుగోలుకు అమెరికాకు చెందిన జీఈ ఏరోస్పేస్‌తో హిందుస్థాన్‌ ఏరోనాటిక్స్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌ (హెచ్‌ఏఎల్‌) 2025, నవంబరు 7న కీలక ఒప్పందం కుదుర్చుకుంది. దీని విలువ రూ.8,870 కోట్లు. దీనికింద ఎఫ్‌404-జీఈ-ఐఎన్‌20 శ్రేణి ఇంజిన్లను భారత్‌కు జీఈ అందిస్తుంది. 2027 నుంచి వీటి సరఫరా మొదలై 2032 కల్లా పూర్తవుతుంది.

గెయిల్‌ సీఎండీగా దీపక్‌ గుప్తా

ప్రముఖ వైద్యవేత్త అంబుజ్‌నాథ్‌బోస్‌ పురస్కారాన్ని 2025 సంవత్సరానికి ప్రముఖ వైద్యులు, ఏషియన్‌ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్‌ ఆఫ్‌ గ్యాస్ట్రోఎంటరాలజీ (ఏఐజీ) ఛైర్మన్‌ డాక్టర్‌ నాగేశ్వరరెడ్డికి ప్రదానం చేశారు. లండన్‌లోని ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మక రాయల్‌ కాలేజ్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఫిజీషియన్స్‌ (ఆర్‌సీపీ) ఆధ్వర్యంలో అత్యుత్తమ పరిశోధనలకు ఏటా దీన్ని అందిస్తారు. ఎండోస్కోపీలో డాక్టర్‌ నాగేశ్వరరెడ్డి చేసిన పరిశోధనలు, కృషిని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకొని ఈసారి అవార్డుకు ఎంపిక చేశారు.

వందేమాతన గేయానికి 150 ఏళ్లు

దేశ స్వాతంత్య్ర పోరాటంలో ప్రతిఘటన, ఐక్యత, గర్వానికి చిహ్నంగా నిలిచిన వందేమాతర గేయానికి 2025, నవంబరు 7న 150 ఏళ్లు నిండాయి. బ్రిటిష్‌ ప్రార్థనా గీతం ‘గాడ్‌ సేవ్‌ ది కింగ్‌’ని భారత జాతీయ గీయంగా ప్రకటించాలని ప్రభుత్వం భావించింది. దీన్ని మెజారిటీ భారతీయ జాతీయవాదులు తీవ్రంగా వ్యతిరేకించారు. ఆంగ్లేయుల చర్యకు ప్రతిస్పందనగా బంకిమ్‌చంద్ర ఛటోపాధ్యాయ 1875, నవంబరు 7న వందేమాతర గేయాన్ని రచించారు. సంస్కృతం, బెంగాలీ పదాలను మిళితం చేసి ఆయన దీన్ని రాశారు. ఛటోపాధ్యాయ 1882లో రచించిన ‘ఆనందమఠ్‌’ నవలలో దీన్ని ప్రార్థనా గేయంగా ఉపయోగించారు. 1896లో కలకత్తాలో జరిగిన కాంగ్రెస్‌ సమావేశంలో మహాకవి రవీంద్రనాథ్‌ ఠాగూర్‌ వందేమాతర గేయానికి స్వయంగా బాణి కట్టి, ఆలపించారు. నాటి బ్రిటిష్‌ రాజప్రతినిధి లార్డ్‌ కర్జన్‌ 1905, జులై 20న బెంగాల్‌ను రెండు రాష్ట్రాలుగా విభజిస్తూ అధికారిక ప్రకటన చేశారు. 1905, అక్టోబరు 16 నుంచి ఇది అమల్లోకి వచ్చింది. దీనికి వ్యతిరేకంగా దేశప్రజలంతా భారతమాతను స్మరించుకుంటూ ‘వందేమాతరం గేయాన్ని’ పాడారు. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ‘వందేమాతరం’ నినాదాలు చేశారు. తక్కువ కాలంలోనే ఇది దేశంలోని అన్ని ప్రాంతాలకు విస్తరించింది. 1950, జనవరి 24న భారత రాజ్యాంగ సభ వందేమాతరాన్ని జీతీయ గీతంగా స్వీకరించింది.

10 జట్లతో.. మహిళల ప్రపంచకప్‌

మహిళల వన్డే ప్రపంచకప్‌లో పోటీపడే జట్ల సంఖ్యను 10కి పెంచాలని ఐసీసీ నిర్ణయించింది. 2029లో ఈ జట్ల మధ్య మెగా టోర్నీ జరుగుతుంది. ప్రస్తుతం ఎనిమిది జట్లు ఆడుతున్నాయి. ఇటీవల జరిగిన మహిళల ప్రపంచకప్‌ను దాదాపు 3 లక్షల మంది అభిమానులు స్టేడియాలకు వచ్చి మ్యాచ్‌లను వీక్షించారు. డిజిటల్‌ వేదికలో 500 మిలియన్ల వ్యూస్‌ వచ్చాయి. అందుకే 2029 ప్రపంచకప్‌లో పది జట్లను ఆడించాలని నిర్ణయించినట్లు ఐసీసీ పేర్కొంది. 2025, నవంబరు 7న దుబాయ్‌లో జరిగిన బోర్డు సమావేశంలో వివిధ అంశాలపై ఐసీసీ నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది.
