హింసా దౌర్జన్యాలు, వేధింపుల వల్ల స్వదేశంలోనే ఇతర ప్రాంతాలకు లేదా ఇతర దేశాలకు తరలిపోతున్న శరణార్థుల సంఖ్య 12.2 కోట్లకు చేరుకుందని ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి శరణార్థుల వ్యవహారాల సంఘం (యూఎన్‌హెచ్‌సీఆర్‌) నివేదిక పేర్కొంది. ఈ సంఖ్య గతేడాదికన్నా 20 లక్షలు ఎక్కువ. దశాబ్దం క్రితంతో (2105) పోలిస్తే దాదాపు రెట్టింపు అని నివేదిక వివరించింది. సంఘర్షణల వల్ల స్వదేశం విడచిపెట్టిన శరణార్థుల్లో మూడింట రెండు వంతులు పొరుగు దేశాల్లోనే తల దాచుకొంటున్నారని నివేదిక తెలిపింది.
ప్రపంచ ఆర్థిక వేదిక (డబ్ల్యూఈఎఫ్‌) 2025 ఏడాదికి గాను వెలువరించిన లింగ సమానత్వ సూచీలో భారత్‌ 131వ ర్యాంకులో నిలిచింది. కేవలం 64.1 శాతం సమానత్వంతో దక్షిణాసియాలో అత్యల్ప ర్యాంకు పొందిన దేశాల సరసన భారత్‌ నిలిచింది. 2024లో భారత్‌ 129వ ర్యాంకులో ఉంది. స్త్రీ, పురుషుల ఆర్థిక భాగస్వామ్యం - అవకాశాలు, విద్యాపరమైన స్థితిగతులు, ఆరోగ్య- జీవన స్థితిగతులు, రాజకీయ సాధికారత లాంటి నాలుగు అంశాల ఆధారంగా 148 దేశాలకు డబ్ల్యూఈఎఫ్‌ ర్యాంకులను కేటాయించింది. ఈ జాబితాలో వరుసగా 16వ సారి ఐస్‌లాండ్‌ తొలి స్థానంలో నిలిచింది. 2వ స్థానంలో ఫిన్‌లాండ్, 3వ స్థానంలో నార్వే ఉంది.
ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లోని నంద్యాల జిల్లా కొలిమిగుండ్ల మండలంలోని బెలూం గుహలకు భౌగోళిక వారసత్వ ప్రదేశంగా జియోలాజికల్‌ సర్వే ఆఫ్‌ ఇండియా గుర్తింపునిచ్చింది. దీంతో వీటికి దేశ పర్యాటక ప్రదేశాల పటంలో స్థానం దక్కుతుంది. విదేశీ పర్యాటకులను ఆకట్టుకునేలా ప్రచారం లభిస్తుంది. ఇవి ఇప్పటికే దేశంలోనే పొడవైన గుహలుగా పేరు తెచ్చుకున్నారు. ఏడాదికి దాదాపు 2 లక్షల మంది వీటిని సందర్శిస్తుంటారు.
భారత సర్వసైన్యాధికారైన రాష్ట్రపతికి ఎయిడ్‌-డె-క్యాంప్‌ (ఏడీసీ)గా నియమితులైన మొదటి మహిళా నేవల్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌గా నావికా దళానికి చెందిన లెఫ్టినెంట్‌ కమాండర్‌ యశస్వీ సోలంకి గుర్తింపు పొందారు. భారత ప్రథమ పౌరులైన రాష్ట్రపతికీ, వివిధ ప్రభుత్వ విభాగాలకూ మధ్య సమన్వయకర్తగా ఉంటూ అధికారిక కార్యక్రమాలు, సమావేశాలు, మిలిటరీ ప్రోటోకాల్స్‌ సవ్యంగా సాగేలా చూడటం ఏడీసీ విధి. రాష్ట్రపతికి మొత్తం అయిదుగురు ఏడీసీలు ఉంటారు. ఆర్మీ నుంచి ముగ్గుర్నీ, ఎయిర్‌ఫోర్స్, నేవీల నుంచి చెరొకరినీ ఎంపికచేస్తారు. వీళ్లలోంచి ఒకరిని రాష్ట్రపతి విధుల కోసం ఎంచుకుంటారు. సర్వీసులో కనీసం 5-7 ఏళ్లపాటు అత్యుత్తమ ప్రతిభ కనబర్చినవాళ్లనే ఏడీసీగా నియమిస్తారు.
2025లో వింబుల్డన్‌ టోర్నీ ప్రైజ్‌మనీని రూ.624 కోట్లుగా నిర్ణయించినట్లు ఆల్‌ ఇంగ్లాండ్‌ క్లబ్ అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు. గత సీజన్‌తో పోలిస్తే ఈ మొత్తం 7 శాతం అధికం. విజేతగా నిలిచే ప్లేయర్‌ రూ.34 కోట్లు సొంతం చేసుకోనున్నాడు. 2024తో పోలిస్తే ఇది 11.1 శాతం ఎక్కువ. ఈ టోర్నీలో పురుషులు, మహిళల విజేతలకు సమాన నగదు బహుమతి దక్కుతుంది. తొలి రౌండ్లో నిష్క్రమించే క్రీడాకారులకు రూ.76 లక్షలు దక్కనున్నాయి. జూన్‌ 30న వింబుల్డన్‌ ఆరంభం కానుంది. జులై 13 వరకు ఈ టోర్నీ జరుగుతుంది.
ఐఎస్‌ఎస్‌ఎఫ్‌ ప్రపంచకప్‌లో భారత స్టార్‌ షూటర్‌ సిఫ్ట్‌ కౌర్‌ సమ్రా కాంస్య పతకం సాధించింది. 2025, జూన్‌ 12న మ్యూనిక్‌లో జరిగిన మహిళల 50 మీటర్ల రైఫిల్‌ 3 పొజిషన్‌ ఫైనల్లో ఆమె 453.1 పాయింట్లతో మూడో స్థానంలో నిలిచింది. జీనెట్‌ డ్యూస్టడ్‌ (466.9- నార్వే) స్వర్ణం, ఎమిలీ జేగీ (464.8- స్విట్జర్లాండ్‌) రజతం గెలిచారు.
