Narendra Modi met Wang Yi

♦ Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New Delhi on 19 August 2025. ♦ Modi stressed the need for peace and stability along the India-China border and reiterated India's commitment to a fair and mutually acceptable boundary resolution.  ♦ During the meeting, PM Modi welcomed what he described as “steady and positive progress” in bilateral relations since his discussions with Xi in Kazan last year (2024). ♦ He noted that ties had been guided by principles of mutual respect, mutual interest, and mutual sensitivity, and referred to the resumption of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra as a step forward in people-to-people exchanges.

కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ రుణం రూ.200 లక్షల కోట్లు

కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ అప్పు రూ.200 లక్షల కోట్లకు చేరింది. ఇది జీడీపీలో 56.1 శాతానికి సమానం. కేంద్రానికి వస్తున్న ఆదాయంలో 37.32% మొత్తం రుణాలపై వడ్డీ చెల్లింపులకే వెళ్తోంది. ఈ విషయాన్ని కేంద్ర ఆర్థికశాఖ మంత్రి నిర్మలా సీతారామన్‌ 2025, ఆగస్టు 18న వెల్లడించారు. 2015-16లో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ అప్పులు రూ.70.98 లక్షల కోట్ల మేర ఉండగా, పదేళ్లలో అది 181.99%మేర పెరిగింది. ఇదే సమయంలో జీడీపీలో రుణ నిష్పత్తి 51.5% నుంచి 56.1%కి చేరింది. దశాబ్దకాలంలో కేంద్రం రూ.117.78 లక్షల కోట్ల అప్పు చెల్లించింది. ఇందులో అసలు కింద రూ.32.61 లక్షల కోట్లు, వడ్డీ కింద రూ.85.17 లక్షల కోట్లు చెల్లించింది. ప్రభుత్వానికి వచ్చే ఆదాయంలో వడ్డీ చెల్లింపుల కోసం 2015-16లో 36.96% మొత్తం పోగా, ఇప్పుడు అది 37.32%కి పెరిగింది.
