National Constitution Day

♦ National Constitution Day is celebrated every year on November 26 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution. ♦ Indian Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949 and its coming into effect on January 26, 1950. ♦ With an aim to promote constitutional values among people, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced on November 19, 2015 that the government would celebrate November 26 every year as Constitution Day.

National Milk Day

♦ National Milk Day is observed annually in India on November 26 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the architect of the ‘White Revolution’. ♦ He is known as the ‘Father of the White Revolution in India.’ The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), the Indian Dairy Association (IDA), and 22 state-level milk federations decided to celebrate Dr Verghese Kurien’s birth anniversary as National Milk Day on November 26, 2014.  ♦ 2024 theme: “Transforming Dairying with AI and IT"

Dr Jaiteerth Raghavendra

♦ Dr Jaiteerth Raghavendra Joshi was appointed as the new Chief of BrahMos Aerospace on 26 November 2024. He will officially assume his position on December 1. ♦ He succeeded Atul Dinkar Rane, who has led the organization since 2021.   ♦ BrahMos Aerospace was established as a joint venture between India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya. ♦ The name "BrahMos" is derived from the Brahmaputra River in India and the Moskva River in Russia, symbolizing the partnership between the two nations.   ♦ BrahMos has become a vital asset for India's defense exports. In January 2022, India secured a landmark $375 million agreement with the Philippines to supply three missile batteries, launchers, and related equipment.

♦ The oldest man in the world - John Alfred Tinniswood was died at the age of 112 in Southport, England on 25 November 2024. ♦ He was born on 21 August, 1912, the year of the sinking of the Titanic.   ♦ He was named the world’s oldest man by Guinness World Records in April 2024, following the death of Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, who passed at 114. ♦ During World War II, Mr Tinniswood served in the Royal Army Pay Corps, showcasing his dedication to his country.

♦ Telangan's Divith Reddy (8) has won the gold medal at the Under-8 World Cadets Chess Championship in Montesilvano, Italy on 26 November 2024. ♦ He accumulated nine points out of a maximum of 11, tying with compatriot Sattwik Swain. ♦ However, Divith secured the gold based on his superior tiebreak score. Sattwik claimed silver, while Ziming Guo of China took the bronze.

‘Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics (BAHS) 2024’

♦ Union Minister, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh released the annual publication of ‘Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics (BAHS) 2024’ on the occasion of National Milk Day celebrated in New Delhi on November 26. ♦ Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying prepared this report.  ♦ BAHS releases the estimation of production of Milk, Egg, Meat and wool in the country annually based on the results of Integrated Sample Survey (ISS) which is conducted across the country in three seasons i.e., Summer (March-June), Rainy (July-October) and Winter (November-February). Milk Production: ♦ The milk production in the country saw an increase of 3.78% during 2023-24 over the estimates of 2022-23. ♦ The report says that the country is estimated to produce 239.30 million tonnes of milk during 2023-24.  ♦ In 2014-15, the milk production was 146.3 million tonnes. In 2022-23, the milk production was 230.58 million tonnes. India is at the top in milk production globally and second in in egg production. ♦ The top five milk producing States during 2023-24 was Uttar Pradesh with a share of 16.21% of total milk production followed by Rajasthan (14.51%), Madhya Pradesh (8.91%), Gujarat (7.65%), and Maharashtra (6.71 %).  Egg Production: ♦ The total Egg production in the country is estimated as 142.77 billion nos. during 2023-24 and registered a growth of 6.8% growth over the past 10 years as compared to the estimates of 78.48 billion numbers during 2014-15. Further, the production has increased annually by 3.18% during 2023-24 over 2022-23. ♦ The major contribution in the total Egg production comes from Andhra Pradesh with a share of 17.85 % of total Egg production followed by Tamil Nadu (15.64 %), Telangana (12.88%), West Bengal (11.37%) and Karnataka (6.63 %).  Meat Production: ♦ The total Meat production in the country is estimated as 10.25 million tonnes during 2023-24 and registered a growth of 4.85 % over the past 10 years as compared to the estimates of 6.69 million tonnes in 2014-15. Further, the production was increased by 4.95 % in 2023-24 over 2022-23. ♦ It is further stated that the Major contribution in the total meat production comes from West Bengal with 12.62 % share and followed by Uttar Pradesh (12.29%), Maharashtra (11.28 %), Telangana (10.85 %) and Andhra Pradesh (10.41 %). Wool Production: ♦ The total Wool production in the country is estimated as 33.69 million kg during 2023-24 registered a slight growth of 0.22% over last year. It was 36.76 million kg during 2019-20 and 33.61 million KG in previous year. ♦ The Major contribution in the total Wool production comes from Rajasthan with a share of 47.53% followed by Jammu & Kashmir (23.06%), Gujarat (6.18%), Maharashtra (4.75%) and Himachal Pradesh (4.22%).

“Ab Koi Bahana Nahi”

♦ Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi launched a national campaign “Ab Koi Bahana Nahi” in New Delhi. ♦ The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministries of Women and Child Development and Rural Development, which also has support from the United Nations Women (UN Women). ♦ This campaign has started with the aim of eliminating gender-based violence.

భారత రాజ్యాంగం ఆమోదం పొంది 2024, నవంబరు 26 నాటికి 75 ఏళ్లు పూర్తి చేసుకున్న సందర్భంగా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం https: //constitution75.com పేరిట ప్రత్యేక వెబ్‌సైట్‌ను రూపొందించింది. అందులో రాజ్యాంగ పరిషత్‌ చర్చలు, నివేదికలు అందుబాటులో ఉంటాయని కేంద్ర సాంస్కృతిక శాఖ పేర్కొంది. నవంబరు 26 నుంచి ఏడాది పొడవునా వేడుకలు నిర్వహించనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించింది. అందులో భాగంగా నగరాలు, గ్రామాలు, పాఠశాలల్లో రాజ్యాంగ పీఠిక సామూహిక పఠన కార్యక్రమాలు ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నట్లు పేర్కొంది.
