ఒక చిత్రం అనేక విషయాలను తెలుపుతుంది. ఇది అనేక భావోద్వేగాలు, భావనలను కలిగిస్తుంది. దీనిది విశ్వభాష. మనసుకు ఆహ్లాదాన్ని కలిగించే ప్రతి దృశ్యాన్ని ఫొటో రూపంలో బంధించి.. విలువైన జ్ఞాపకంగా మనతో ఉంచుకోవచ్చు. వీటిని చూసినప్పుడల్లా పాత గుర్తులను నెమరువేసుకునే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది. మనకు కావాల్సిన వ్యక్తులు, ప్రకృతి అందాలు, పక్షులు - జంతువులు, కాలానికి అనుగుణంగా వచ్చే మార్పులు ఇలా ప్రతిదీ మనం చిత్తరువుగా భద్రపరచుకోవచ్చు. ప్రస్తుత డిజిటల్‌ యుగంలో స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్ల వాడకం పెరిగాక ప్రతి సందర్భాన్ని తీపి గుర్తుగా మలుచుకునేందుకు ఫొటోలను తీసుకుంటున్నారు. చారిత్రక సంఘటనలకు దృశ్య రూపం కల్పించి, వాటిని భవిష్యత్తు తరాలకు అందించడంలో ‘ఫొటోగ్రఫీ’ ముఖ్యపాత్ర పోషిస్తోంది. మానవ జీవనంలో ఫొటోగ్రఫీ ప్రాముఖ్యాన్ని తెలియజేసే ఉద్దేశంతో ఏటా ఆగస్టు 19న ‘ప్రపంచ ఫొటోగ్రఫీ దినోత్సవం’గా (World Photography Day) నిర్వహిస్తారు. దీన్నే ‘వరల్డ్‌ ఫొటో డే’గా పిలుస్తారు. ఈ కళారూపాలకు కారణమైన ఫొటోగ్రాఫర్లను గౌరవించుకోవడంతోపాటు సమాజంలో దీన్ని ఒక కళగా వ్యాప్తి చేయడం ఈ రోజు ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశం. చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం: ఫొటోగ్రఫీ చరిత్ర 1837లో ఫ్రాన్స్‌లో ప్రారంభమైంది. ఆ సమయంలో జోసెఫ్‌ నీస్‌ఫోర్‌ నీప్సే, లూయిస్‌ డగ్యురే అనే శాస్త్రవేత్తలు మొదటిసారి ఫొటోగ్రఫిక్‌ ప్రక్రియ లేదా డాగ్యురోటైప్‌ను అభివృద్ధి చేశారు. 1838లో లూయిస్‌ డగ్యురె తొలిసారి ఇద్దరు వ్యక్తుల ఫొటో తీశాడు. 1839, ఆగస్టు 19న ఫ్రెంచ్‌ ప్రభుత్వం డాగ్యురోటైప్‌ ప్రక్రియను అధికారికంగా ప్రకటించింది. ఫొటోలను సంగ్రహించి, రక్షించే పద్ధతుల్లో ఒకటిగా ఇది పేరొందింది. ఫొటోగ్రఫీ పుట్టుకకు దీన్నే నాందిగా పేర్కొంటారు. ఈ కీలకమైన రోజును గుర్తుంచుకునేందుకు ఏటా ఆగస్టు 19న ‘ప్రపంచ ఫొటోగ్రఫీ దినోత్సవం’గా జరుపుకోవాలని ప్రపంచ ఫొటోగ్రఫీ సంస్థ 2009లో తీర్మానించింది. దీన్ని మొదటిసారి 2010లో నిర్వహించారు. 2025 నినాదం: "My Favorite Photo"

భూమిపై పెరుగుతున్న ఉష్ణ తాపాన్ని నిలువరించడానికి ఉత్తర, దక్షిణ ధ్రువాల వైపు కంటే భూ మధ్య రేఖ పరిధిలోని ఉష్ణమండల ప్రాంతాల్లో చెట్లను నాటడం ఎక్కువ ఫలితాలను ఇస్తుందని ఓ అధ్యయనం తేల్చింది. ‘చెట్ల పనితీరుపై స్థానిక వాతావరణ పరిస్థితుల ప్రభావం’ అనే అంశంపై అమెరికాలోని కాలిఫోర్నియా రివర్‌సైడ్‌ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం అధ్యయనం నిర్వహించింది. ఆ వివరాల ప్రకారం.. చెట్లను ఉత్తర, దక్షిణ ధ్రువ ప్రాంతాల్లో నాటితే అవి అక్కడ స్వల్ప ఉష్ణోగ్రత పెరిగేందుకు కారణమవుతున్నాయని.. తేమ ఎక్కువుండే భూమధ్య రేఖ ప్రాంతాల్లో ఫలితాలు ఇందుకు భిన్నంగా ఉన్నాయని తేలింది.

రూ.62వేల కోట్లతో 97 తేజస్‌ మార్క్‌-1ఏ యుద్ధవిమానాల కొనుగోలుకు కేంద్రం ఆమోదం తెలిపినట్లు రక్షణ శాఖ 2025, ఆగస్టు 19న తెలిపింది. వీటిని హిందుస్థాన్‌ ఏరోనాటిక్స్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌ (హెచ్‌ఏఎల్‌) ఉత్పత్తి చేయనుంది. ఈ స్వదేశీ యుద్ధవిమానానికి దక్కిన రెండో ఆర్డర్‌ ఇది. రూ.48వేల కోట్లతో 83 యుద్ధవిమానాల సమీకరణకు కేంద్రం కొన్నేళ్ల కిందట ఆమోదం తెలిపింది.
