2025-26లో వృద్ధి రేటు 6.3%

మన దేశ ఆర్థిక వృద్ధి ప్రస్తుత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరం (2025-26)లో 6.3 శాతంగా నమోదు కావొచ్చని ఎస్‌బీఐ రిసెర్చ్‌ నివేదిక అంచనా వేసింది. రిజర్వ్‌ బ్యాంక్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఇండియా (ఆర్‌బీఐ) అంచనా వేసిన 6.5 శాతం కంటే ఇది తక్కువ. ఏప్రిల్‌-జూన్‌ త్రైమాసికంలో వృద్ధి 6.8-7 శాతం మధ్య నమోదు కావొచ్చని ఎస్‌బీఐ రిసెర్చ్‌ తెలిపింది. జులై-సెప్టెంబరు త్రైమాసికంలో 6.5 శాతం, అక్టోబరు-డిసెంబరు త్రైమాసికంలో 6.3 శాతం, జనవరి-మార్చి త్రైమాసికంలో 6.1 శాతంగా వృద్ధి నమోదు కావొచ్చని పేర్కొంది.

India and Saudi Arabia bilateral relations

♦ India and Saudi Arabia have agreed to deepen bilateral maritime relations. ♦ Both countries have formed a Joint Working Group (JWG) on maritime cooperation in the shipping and logistics sectors, marking a new chapter in the strategic partnership. ♦ This decision was taken during a high-level virtual meeting between Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser. ♦ The establishment of the strategic partnership council, co-chaired by the leaders of both countries, has elevated bilateral cooperation to new heights. ♦ Sonowal pointed to recent developments, including the launch of the Jeddah–Mundra/Nhava Sheva route by Saudi Arabia’s Folk Maritime Services, which is expected to cut down transit times and costs. ♦ He also proposed collaboration on India’s MAITRI digital platform for the harmonisation of maritime trade.

Online Gaming Bill

♦ Parliament has passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, with the Rajya Sabha approving it on 21 August 2025. ♦ This Bill encourages e-sports and online social games while prohibiting harmful online money gaming services, advertisements, and financial transactions related to them. ♦ It has the provision for the appointment of an Online Gaming Authority for coordinated policy support, strategic development and regulatory oversight of the sector. ♦ The objective of the Bill is to protect individuals, especially youth and vulnerable populations, from the adverse social, economic, psychological and privacy related impacts of such games. ♦ The Bill has a provision of complete ban on offering, operating, or facilitating online money games. ♦ There is a provision of imprisonment up to three years and fine up to one crore rupees or both in case of violation of the law related to online money gaming.
