Gowri Sankara Rao Naramsetti

♦ Gowri Sankara Rao Naramsetti assumed additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) on 2 January 2025. Currently, he is the Director (Finance) and CFO of MIDHANI.  ♦ He joined MIDHANI in 2020 as Director (Finance). He has been associated with Vizag Steel Plant as General Manager from 1991 and Hyderabad Cylinders Pvt. Ltd as Finance Manager from 1989 – 1991. ♦ MIDHANI is a Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, specializes in the manufacture of special steels and superalloys and is a critical player in India's defence production ecosystem.

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya

♦ Employment generation in the country has witnessed a remarkable growth of 36 percent during the last ten years (2014-24). ♦ Ministry of Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said, over 17 crore additional jobs were created from 2014 to 2024. ♦ The Ministry said that around four crore 60 lakh jobs were generated in the country in 2024. ♦ Between 2014 and 24, employment opportunities in the Agriculture sector grew by 19 percent, 15 percent in the manufacturing sector, and 36 percent in the service sector.  ♦ As per the Ministry, the unemployment rate declined from 6 percent in 2017-18 to 3.2 percent in 2023-24. ♦ The Ministry said the employability of graduate youth grew significantly from 33.95 percent in 2013 to 54.81 percent in 2024. Over four crore 70 lakh youth aged between 18 to 28 years have joined EPFO in the last 7 years.

Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh: Through the Ages

♦ Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was officially released a book titled "Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh: Through the Ages" on 2 January 2025 in New Delhi. ♦ Published in Hindi and English, the book is the result of collaborative efforts of the National Book Trust, India, and the Indian Council of Historical Research. ♦ The book attempts to document the story of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh from a perspective and format that enables an overview for both the subject specialist and those less conversant.

National Sports Awards 2024

♦ Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports announced the National Sports Awards 2024 on January 2. The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India at a specially organized function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 17th January, 2025. మహిళా ఉపాధ్యాయ దినోత్సవం

సావిత్రీబాయి ఫులే జయంతిని మహిళా ఉపాధ్యాయ దినోత్సవంగా ప్రకటిస్తూ తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం 2025, జనవరి 2న ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేసింది. ఏటా జనవరి 3న సావిత్రీబాయి జయంతిని రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా అధికారికంగా నిర్వహించాలని నిర్ణయించింది. ఆమె మహాత్మా జ్యోతిబా ఫులే సతీమణి, బాలికా విద్య కోసం విశేష కృషి చేశారు. ప్రస్తుతం తెలంగాణలోని ప్రభుత్వ పాఠశాలల్లో 50 శాతానికిపైగా మహిళా ఉపాధ్యాయులే ఉన్నారు. వారికి ప్రాధాన్యం ఇవ్వాలనే ఉద్దేశంతో ప్రభుత్వం ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది.

మిధాని సీఎండీగా గౌరీ శంకర్‌రావు

మిశ్ర ధాతు నిగమ్‌ (మిధాని) ఛైర్మన్‌ అండ్‌ మేనేజింగ్‌ డైరెక్టర్‌గా గౌరీ శంకర్‌రావు నరంశెట్టి 2025, జనవరి 2న బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించారు. డైరెక్టర్‌ (ఫైనాన్స్‌), సీఎఫ్‌ఓ బాధ్యతల్లో ఉన్న ఆయన, సీఎండీగా అదనపు బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టారు. 2020లో మిధాని డైరెక్టర్‌(ఫైనాన్స్‌)గా బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించిన ఆయన వృత్తిరీత్యా చార్టర్డ్‌ అకౌంటెంట్‌.

చైనాతో మాల్దీవుల స్వేచ్ఛా వాణిజ్య ఒడంబడిక

మాల్దీవులతో చైనా స్వేచ్ఛా వాణిజ్య ఒప్పందం కుదుర్చుకుంది. సుంకాల తగ్గింపునకు, మార్కెట్‌ విస్తృతికి అవకాశం కల్పించే చైనా-మాల్దీవ్స్‌ స్వేచ్ఛా వాణిజ్య ఒడంబడిక (సి.ఎం.ఎఫ్‌.టి.ఏ) ఇరుదేశాలకూ లాభదాయకం కాగలవని భావిస్తున్నారు. ఈ ఒప్పందం జనవరి 1 నుంచి అమల్లోకి వచ్చింది. ఈ ఒప్పందంలో భాగంగా రెండు దేశాలూ పరస్పర వాణిజ్య పురోభివృద్ధికి ఆటంకంగా ఉన్న అవరోధాలను నిర్మూలించి కొత్త అవకాశాల సృష్టికి కృషి చేస్తాయి.

భూగర్భ జలాల ప్రామాణికత-2024 నవేదిక

దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 440 జిల్లాల్లోని భూగర్భ జలాల్లో అధిక స్థాయిలో నైట్రేట్‌ ఉన్నట్లు ‘భూగర్భ జలాల ప్రామాణికత-2024’ వార్షిక నివేదికలో కేంద్ర భూగర్భ జలాల మండలి(సీజీడబ్ల్యూబీ) తెలిపింది. ఈ జిల్లాల్లోని సేకరించిన 20 శాతం నీటి నమూనాల్లో నైట్రేట్‌ విలువ ఉండాల్సిన స్థాయి కంటే అధికంగా ఉందని తేలింది.  అలాగే 9.04 శాతం నమూనాల్లో సురక్షిత స్థాయి కంటే ఫ్లోరైడ్‌ ఉందని, 3.55 శాతం శాంపిళ్లలో ఆర్సెనిక్‌ కాలుష్యం ఉందని వివరించింది.  2023 మేలో భూగర్భ జలాల ప్రామాణికతను తెలుసుకోవడానికి మొత్తం 15,259 ప్రాంతాలను ఎంపిక చేసుకుంది. రాజస్థాన్, కర్ణాటక, తమిళనాడులో 40 శాతం పైగా నమూనాల్లో అనుమతించిన స్థాయి కంటే నైట్రేట్‌ ఉండగా, మహారాష్ట్ర(35.74%), తెలంగాణ(27.48%), ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ (23.5%), మధ్యప్రదేశ్‌ (22.58%)లో భూగర్భ జలాలు అధికంగా నైట్రేట్‌తో కలుషితం అయ్యాయని పేర్కొంది.

36 జలాశయాలతో జలజీవన్‌ మిషన్‌

జలజీవన్‌ మిషన్‌లో ప్రజలకు రక్షిత నీటిసరఫరా కోసం ఉమ్మడి జిల్లాల్లో 38 నీటివనరులను ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ ప్రభుత్వం గుర్తించింది. వీటిని పథకానికి అనుసంధానించేలా సమగ్ర ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదికలు సిద్ధం చేస్తున్నారు. వేసవిలోనూ ప్రజలకు తలసరి రోజూ 55 లీటర్ల నీరు సరఫరా చేసేలా పథకాన్ని పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరిస్తున్నారు. అంచనా వ్యయందాదాపు రూ.60 వేల కోట్లకు పెరిగే ఈ ప్రాజెక్టుకు కేంద్రప్రభుత్వ ఆమోదం తీసుకుని పనులు ప్రారంభించాలని ప్రభుత్వం భావిస్తోంది. మిషన్‌ లక్ష్యాలివి: గ్రామాల్లో 95.44 లక్షల ఇళ్లకు కుళాయిల ద్వారా తలసరి రోజూ 55 లీటర్ల రక్షిత నీటి సరఫరా. వేసవిలోనూ సరఫరాకు అంతరాయం ఏర్పడకుండా 38 జలాశయాలు, నదుల నుంచి నీటిసేకరణ. రూ.60వేల కోట్లకు పెరిగే ప్రాజెక్టు అంచనా వ్యయంపై కేంద్రప్రభుత్వ ఆమోదంతో పనులు ప్రారంభించి 2028 నాటికి పూర్తిచేయాలి.
