టోమికో ఇతోకా మరణం
గిన్నిస్‌ రికార్డు ప్రకారం ప్రపంచంలోనే అత్యంత వృద్ధురాలిగా ఉన్న జపాన్‌కు చెందిన టోమికో ఇతోకా (116) 2025 డిసెంబరు 29 ఆషియా నగరంలో మరణించినట్లు జనవరి 4న అధికారులు తెలిపారు. జపాన్‌లోని ఒసాకాలో 1908 మే 23న టోమికో జన్మించారు.

ఆర్‌.చిదంబరం కన్నుమూత
దేశ అణు పరీక్షల్లో కీలక భూమిక పోషించిన ప్రఖ్యాత అణు శాస్త్రవేత్త రాజగోపాల చిదంబరం (88) 2024, జనవరి 4న ముంబయిలోని జస్‌లోక్‌ ఆసుపత్రిలో మరణించారు. దేశం రెండుసార్లు నిర్వహించిన అణు పరీక్షల్లో ఆయనది ముఖ్యపాత్ర. అణు ఇంధన కమిషన్‌కు ఛైర్మన్‌గా వ్యవహరించడంతో పాటు వ్యూహాత్మక ఆయుధాల అభివృద్ధిలో విశేష సేవలందించారు. చెన్నైలో జన్మించిన ఆయన 1990లో భాభా అణు పరిశోధన కేంద్రం (బార్క్‌) డైరెక్టర్‌ అయ్యారు. 1974లో పోఖ్రాన్‌-1, 1998లో పోఖ్రాన్‌-2 అణు పరీక్షల్లో కీలక సేవలందించారు. అణ్వాయుధాల రూపకల్పనలో దేశానికి ఆయన చేసిన సేవలకు కేంద్రం 1975లో పద్మశ్రీ, 1999లో పద్మవిభూషణ్‌ పురస్కారాలను ప్రదానం చేసింది.
పంచాయతీ భవనాల నిర్మాణం
ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌కు 2024లో 617 పంచాయతీ భవనాల నిర్మాణానికి నిధులు మంజూరు చేసినట్లు కేంద్ర పంచాయతీరాజ్‌శాఖ 2025, జనవరి 4న వెల్లడించింది. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 3వేల మందికిపైగా జనాభా ఉన్న 4,604 గ్రామ పంచాయతీలకు భవనాల నిర్మాణానికి నిధులు ఇవ్వగా అందులో అరుణాచల్‌ప్రదేశ్‌ (661) తర్వాత అత్యధికంగా ఏపీకి 617 భవనాల నిర్మాణానికి నిధులు మంజూరుచేసినట్లు పేర్కొంది. అలాగే 1,422 కంప్యూటర్లు ఇచ్చినట్లు తెలిపింది.
