Indian Air Force

♦ For the first time, the Indian Air Force is set to train pilots of the UK's Royal Air Force under a new initiative. The decision was taken at the 19th UK-India Air Staff Talks held in New Delhi on 12 February 2026.  ♦ Under the latest agreement, the Indian Air Force will deploy three Qualified Flight Instructors (QFI) to Royal Air Force (RAF) Valley in the UK - the training base for British fast jet pilots. ♦ This marks the first time that Indian QFIs will impart fast jet training to British pilots at RAF Valley. The deployment will be initially for a period of two years.  ♦ The signing of this Letter of Agreement is a significant step in strengthening the longstanding relationship between the Royal Air Force and the Indian Air Force.

Asian Shooting Championships 2026

♦ Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar set a new world record en route to winning the gold medal in the men’s 50 metre rifle 3 positions event at the Asian Shooting Championships 2026 in New Delhi on 12 February 2026. He defended his title with a score of 362.0 in the final. India completed a clean sweep of the podium in the event, with Niraj Kumar claiming silver with 361.8 and Akhil Sheoran taking bronze with 343.5. ♦ Earlier, the Indian trio of Neeraj, Aishwary, and Akhil also won the team gold with Japan and Kazakhstan winning the silver and bronze medals. In the junior men’s 50 metre Rifle 3 Positions finals, Adriyan Karmakar secured his second gold medal of the championship with a comfortable victory, shooting a score of 353.2, which was 4.7 more than silver medallist Dmitriy Kim of Kazakhstan.

Indian Air Force (IAF)

♦ The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on 12 February 2026 accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for capital acquisition proposals worth approximately Rs.3.60 lakh crore. The proposals include 114 Rafale fighter jets from France for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and six P-8I long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft from the United States for the Indian Navy. ♦ In November 2025, the central government was planning to acquire these missiles to refill the inventory used up during Operation Sindoor and stock more long-range and short-range surface-to-air delivery systems. Along with the Pantsir short-range system, the Indian Air Force is planning to purchase five more S-400 systems from Russia. The Russian missile system is capable of effectively countering both armed and kamikaze drones. When the S-400 and Pantsir missile systems are combined it can operate as a two-tier defence system to neutralise aerial threats fired from across the border.

ఏపీఎస్‌ఆర్టీసీ ఎండీగా బాలసుబ్రమణ్యం

ఏపీఎస్‌ఆర్టీసీ ఎండీ, ప్రజా రవాణాశాఖ (పీటీడీ) కమిషనర్‌గా ఎన్‌.బాలసుబ్రమణ్యం నియమితులయ్యారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఈయన ఆర్గనైజేషన్స్‌ విభాగం డీజీపీగా ఉన్నారు. ఇప్పటి వరకు ఆర్టీసీ ఎండీగా ఉన్న ద్వారకాతిరుమలరావు పదవీకాలం ఫిబ్రవరితో ముగిసింది. దీంతో ఆయన స్థానంలో రవాణాశాఖ ప్రత్యేక ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి ఎంటీ కృష్ణబాబును ఇన్‌ఛార్జ్‌ ఆర్టీసీ ఎండీగా ప్రభుత్వం నియమించింది. తాజాగా ఆయన స్థానంలో ఆర్టీసీ ఎండీగా బాలసుబ్రమణ్యంను నియమించింది. ఈ మేరకు ప్రభుత్వ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి విజయానంద్‌ 2026, ఫిబ్రవరి 13న ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేశారు.

స్టార్టప్‌ ఇండియా 2.0

స్టార్టప్‌ ఇండియా ఫండ్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఫండ్స్‌ పథకం రెండో దశ (2.0)కు రూ.10,000 కోట్ల మూలనిధితో ప్రభుత్వం 2026, ఫిబ్రవరి 13న ఆమోదం తెలిపింది. ప్రారంభ దశల్లో, డీప్‌-టెక్‌ పరిశోధనల్లో ఉన్న అంకుర సంస్థలకు ఇది ప్రోత్సాహం ఇస్తుందని ప్రధాన మంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీ పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రధాన మంత్రి నూతన కార్యాలయం ‘సేవా తీర్థ్‌’లో మొదటి రోజున పేదలు, అణగారిన వర్గాలు, రైతులు, యువ శక్తి, నారీ శక్తికి సంబంధించిన దస్త్రాలపై మోదీ సంతకం చేశారు. స్టార్టప్‌ ఇండియా ఫండ్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఫండ్స్‌ 2.0కు ఆమోదం సహా పలు కీలక నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకున్నట్లు మోడీ తెలిపారు.

లీడ్‌ బ్యాంక్‌ పథకం

జిల్లా స్థాయిలో అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలను సమన్వయం చేసేందుకు 1969లో ప్రవేశపెట్టిన లీడ్‌ బ్యాంక్‌ పథకం (ఎల్‌బీఎస్‌)లో మార్పులు చేయాలని ఆర్‌బీఐ ప్రతిపాదించింది. ఇందుకోసం కొన్ని నిబంధనలను సవరిస్తూ 2026, ఫిబ్రవరి 13న ముసాయిదాను విడుదల చేసింది. బ్యాంకులు, ప్రభుత్వ విభాగాలు, ఇతర అభివృద్ధి సంస్థలను సమన్వయం చేస్తూ, ప్రాధాన్య రంగాలకు రుణ మంజూరును పెంచడం ఈ పథకం ప్రధాన లక్ష్యం. తాజా ప్రతిపాదనల ప్రకారం.. పథకం లక్ష్యాలు, నిర్మాణం, సభ్యత్వం, వివిధ వేదికల అజెండా, కీలక అధికారుల బాధ్యతలు, రాష్ట్ర స్థాయి బ్యాంకర్ల కమిటీ (ఎస్‌ఎల్‌బీసీ), లీడ్‌ డిస్ట్రిక్ట్‌ మేనేజర్‌ కార్యాలయాలను బలోపేతం చేయడం లాంటి అంశాలపై దృష్టి సారించనున్నారు.

బంగ్లాదేశ్‌ ప్రధానిగా తారిఖ్‌

బంగ్లాదేశ్‌ 13వ సార్వత్రిక ఎన్నికల్లో బంగ్లాదేశ్‌ నేషనలిస్ట్‌ పార్టీ(బీఎన్‌పీ) ఘన విజయం సాధించింది. మూడింట రెండు వంతుల స్థానాల్లో నెగ్గి.. రెండు దశాబ్దాల తర్వాత బంగ్లా అధికార పీఠాన్ని కైవసం చేసుకుంది. మాజీ ప్రధాని ఖాలిదా జియా కుమారుడు, బీఎన్‌పీ ఛైర్మన్‌ తారిఖ్‌ రెహమాన్‌(60) దేశ నూతన ప్రధాన మంత్రిగా బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టనున్నారు. ఎన్నికలు జరిగిన 299 పార్లమెంటు స్థానాల్లో 209 సీట్లలో బీఎన్‌పీ విజయఢంకా మోగించింది. పాకిస్థాన్‌తో అత్యంత సన్నిహిత సంబంధాలున్న మతతత్వ పార్టీ జమాత్‌-ఏ-ఇస్లామీ 68 స్థానాలతో రెండో స్థానంలో నిలిచింది.   చివరిసారిగా బీఎన్‌పీ 2001లో అధికారంలోకి వచ్చింది. 2006 వరకు కొనసాగింది. ఆ తర్వాత జరిగిన ఎన్నికల్లో షేక్‌ హసీనా నేతృత్వంలోని అవామీ లీగ్‌ పార్టీయే నెగ్గుతూ వచ్చింది.

ప్రధాని కొత్త కార్యాలయం

కొత్తగా నిర్మించిన ప్రధాన మంత్రి కార్యాలయం (పీఎంఓ) - సేవా తీర్థ్‌ను ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ 2026, ఫిబ్రవరి 13న ప్రారంభించారు. సేవా తీర్థ్‌లో ప్రధాని కార్యాలయంతోపాటు జాతీయ భద్రత మండలి సెక్రటేరియట్, క్యాబినెట్‌ సెక్రటేరియట్‌ ఉంటాయి. దీంతో పాటు కేంద్ర సచివాలయ భవనాలైన కర్తవ్య భవన్‌-1, కర్తవ్య భవన్‌-2లనూ ఆయన ప్రారంభించారు.  కర్తవ్య భవన్‌లు 1, 2లలో న్యాయ, రక్షణ, ఆర్థిక, ఆరోగ్య, వ్యవసాయశాఖలతోపాటు పలు శాఖల కార్యాలయాలుంటాయి. ఈ రెండు భవనాలు డిజిటల్లీ ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్‌గా ఉంటాయి.  1921 నుంచీ దేశంలో అధికార కేంద్రాలుగా ఉన్న చారిత్రక సౌత్‌బ్లాక్, నార్త్‌బ్లాక్‌ భవనాలను మ్యూజియంగా మారుస్తామని మోదీ పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా రూ.100 ప్రత్యేక నాణాన్ని విడుదల చేశారు.

ఆర్‌ఏఎఫ్‌ పైలట్లకు శిక్షణ ఇవ్వనున్న ఐఏఎఫ్‌

బ్రిటన్‌కు చెందిన రాయల్‌ ఎయిర్‌ఫోర్స్‌ (ఆర్‌ఏఎఫ్‌) పైలట్లకు శిక్షణ ఇచ్చేందుకు భారత వాయుసేన (ఐఏఎఫ్‌) తొలిసారి సిద్ధమైంది. దిల్లీ వేదికగా 2026, ఫిబ్రవరి 12న జరిగిన 19వ బ్రిటన్‌-భారత్‌ వైమానిక సిబ్బంది చర్చల్లో ఈ మేరకు అంగీకారం కుదిరింది. ఇందులో భాగంగా బ్రిటన్‌లోని ఆర్‌ఏఎఫ్‌ వ్యాలీలో ముగ్గురు క్వాలిఫైడ్‌ ఫ్లైట్‌ ఇన్‌స్ట్రక్టర్లను ఐఏఎఫ్‌ ప్రాథమికంగా రెండేళ్ల పాటు విధుల్లో ఉంచనుంది.

ఆసియా షూటింగ్‌ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌

ఆసియా షూటింగ్‌ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లో ఐశ్వరీ ప్రతాప్‌ సింగ్‌ స్వర్ణం నెగ్గాడు. 2026, ఫిబ్రవరి 12న దిల్లీలో జరిగిన పురుషుల 50 మీటర్ల రైఫిల్‌ 3 పొజిషన్స్‌లో అతడు 362 పాయింట్లతో ప్రపంచ రికార్డు సృష్టిస్తూ అగ్రస్థానంలో నిలిచాడు. ఈ ఈవెంట్లో మిగతా రెండు పతకాలు భారత్‌కే దక్కాయి. నీరజ్‌ కుమార్‌ (361.8), అఖిల్‌ షెరోన్‌ (343.5) వరుసగా రజత, కాంస్య పతకాలు గెలుచుకున్నారు. 50 మీటర్ల రైఫిల్‌ 3 పొజిషన్స్‌లో టీమ్‌ స్వర్ణం కూడా భారత్‌కే లభించింది.
