Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a subsidiary of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has issued a notification for the recruitment of Project Engineer-I posts to work in various locations in Kerala as part of its Homeland Security and Smart City Business Unit (HLS&SCB SBU). Details: Project Engineer-I: 12 Eligibility: Candidates should have completed at least 4 years of BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Computer Science/IT etc.) from a recognized university. Experience: Should have at least two years of relevant industrial experience as on February 1, 2026. Age Limit: Not more than 32 years as on February 1, 2026. ♦ British and Canadian citizens can enter China without a visa, bringing to 79 the number of countries granted visa-free access in a bid to boost tourism and business. China has expanded eligibility for the program significantly in the last two years. Visitors can stay for up to 30 days for business, tourism, exchange programs and to visit family and friends. ♦ Most Europeans qualify for visa-free entry, along with some from select countries in other regions including Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. ♦ Citizens of a few other countries, including the United States and Indonesia, can enter for 10 days if they are in transit — meaning they have a ticket departing for a different country than they arrived from.

♦ Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on 16 February 2026. The expo is being held till 20th February, alongside the India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam. ♦ The Indian Army is hosting the inaugural United Nations Fellowship Training Programme on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) Control for the first time in Asia for the Asia-Pacific region. The program is being held under the aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) from February 16 to March 6, 2026, at the Military College of Materials Management in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. ♦ The prestigious three-week fellowship is being organised by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) through its Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (UNRCPD). The programme brings together delegates from 13 nations across the Asia-Pacific region. ♦ The Fellowship is designed to build the technical and operational capacity of government officials responsible for implementing the UN Programme of Action (PoA) and the International Tracing Instrument (ITI) – key global frameworks aimed at preventing the illicit trade, diversion and misuse of Small Arms and Light Weapons.

చలామణిలో రూ.40 లక్షల కోట్ల నగదు

2026 జనవరి చివరికి దేశంలో చలామణిలో ఉన్న నగదు పరిమాణం జీవనకాల గరిష్ఠమైన రూ.40 లక్షల కోట్లకు చేరినట్లు ఎస్‌బీఐ రిసెర్చ్‌ తాజా నివేదిక వెల్లడించింది. అయితే అయిదేళ్ల వ్యవధిలో స్థూల దేశీయోత్పత్తితో పోలిస్తే, నగదు నిష్పత్తి 14.4% నుంచి 11 శాతానికి తగ్గినట్లు పేర్కొంది. ఈ నివేదిక ప్రకారం.. కర్ణాటక, పశ్చిమ బెంగాల్‌ లాంటి రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఏటీఎంల నుంచి నగదు ఉపసంహరణ పెరుగుతుంటే, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో క్రమంగా తగ్గుతోంది. 2022-23లో ఏపీలో ఒక్కో ఏటీఎం నుంచి సగటున నెలకు రూ.1.57 కోట్లు విత్‌డ్రా అయ్యేవి. 2025-26 డిసెంబరుకు ఇది రూ.1.34 కోట్లకు తగ్గింది. అంటే డిజిటల్‌ లావాదేవీలు అధికమయ్యాయి. కానీ, తెలంగాణ, ఏపీలో రూ.100 నోట్ల వినియోగం పెరుగుతోంది. తమిళనాడులో రూ.200 నోట్ల వినియోగం అధికంగా ఉంది.
