Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA)

♦ Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has become the first airport to achieve water positive status in the country with a capacity of more than 40 million passengers per annum. This was said by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), on 1 December 2025.  ♦ A water-positive facility is one that replenishes more water than it consumes. ♦ This certification was achieved through 625 rainwater harvesting structures installed across the airport, two newly built underground reservoirs with a combined capacity of 9 million litres, enabling significant rainwater capture and storage, and a 16.6 MLD zero-liquid-discharge sewage treatment plant that recycles the airport’s wastewater.

The Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST)

♦ The Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections for the 2025 November came in at over Rs 1.70 lakh crore. Official provisional figures indicate total Gross GST revenue reached Rs.1,70,276 crore in November 2025, rising 0.7% from Rs. 1,69,016 crore in November 2024. ♦ For April-November 2025, cumulative gross collections increased to Rs.14,75,488 crore, demonstrating robust 8.9% yearly growth. ♦ November's Net GST revenue amounted to Rs.1,52,079 crore, showing 1.3% yearly growth. The year-to-date net revenue reached Rs.12,79,434 crore, growing 7.3% annually. ♦ The Gross Domestic Revenue stood at Rs.1,24,300 crore in November 2025, compared to Rs.1,27,281 crore previously.

India’s total installed power generation

♦ India’s total installed power generation capacity has reached 5.05 lakh megawatt as of October 2025. This information was given by the Minister of State for Power Shripad Yesso Naik in the Rajya Sabha on 1 December 2025. He stated that the Government has undertaken several steps and initiatives to promote and accelerate renewable energy capacity in the country, in line with its commitment to achieving 500 Gigawatt of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030. ♦ He added that Foreign Direct Investment has been permitted up to 100 percent under the automatic route. ♦ The Minister said that Under the Green Energy Corridor Scheme, the Government has funded the laying of new transmission lines and creation of additional sub-station capacity to facilitate evacuation of renewable power. To support the steep growth trajectory of renewable energy, a comprehensive transmission plan has been prepared till 2032.

♦ Reserve Bank Governor Sanjay Malhotra released the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion: 2025-30 on 1 December 2025. The framework, as approved by the Sub-Committee of the Financial Stability and Development Council, lays down five strategic objectives towards elevating the state of financial inclusion in the country. ♦ According to an official press release, these Panch-Jyoti and a menu of 47 action points to achieve them, include improving the availability and use of equitable, responsible, suitable, and affordable bouquet of financial services to achieve financial safety and financial security for households and micro enterprises. It also aims to adopt a  gender-sensitive approach for women-led financial inclusion and differentiated strategies for improving financial resilience of households, especially for the underserved and vulnerable segments.
