3rd India-Cambodia Foreign Office Consultations (FOC)

♦ The 3rd India-Cambodia Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) were held in Siem Reap, Cambodia on 10 March 2025. ♦ The consultations were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and provided an opportunity to review the entire gamut of bilateral relations including political cooperation, trade and investment, defence and security, development assistance, heritage conservation and restoration and consular issues. ♦ The two sides also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.

Railways (Amendment) Bill 2024

♦ Parliament has passed the Railways (Amendment) Bill 2024 with the Rajya Sabha approving it on 10 March 2025. ♦ The bill seeks to amend the Railways Act 1989 and is intended to enhance the power of the Railways Board and enhance the functioning and independence of the body. ♦ Lok Sabha has already given its nod to this bill on 2024 December 11. ♦ Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, the Indian railway is undergoing continuous reforms focussing on infrastructure modernisation, technology adoption and improved safety. ♦ He said, that in the last 11 years, 34 thousand new railway tracks have been laid down and 45 thousand kilometres of tracks have been electrified.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

♦ India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Armenia for cooperation in the field of medical products regulation on 10 March 2025. ♦ The MoU was signed in the presence of External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishankar and Foreign Minister of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan in Delhi. ♦ The two ministers agreed to explore cooperation in digital technologies and pharmaceuticals. ♦ They also reviewed the whole range of growing India-Armenia bilateral cooperation including in the areas of political exchanges, trade, economics, connectivity, education, culture, and people-to-people contacts. ♦ The two nations also signed an MoU on Cooperation between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service and the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

♦ The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has changed its name to Commonwealth Sports under the ‘More in Common’ brand campaign on 10 March 2025. ♦ The announcement was made on the occasion of Commonwealth Day, an annual celebration of the Commonwealth of Nations held on the second Monday in March. ♦ The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is the first edition of the Games to incorporate this logo into the event mark. ♦ The Commonwealth Day also marks the launch of the Commonwealth Sport King’s Baton Relay at Buckingham Place, starting the relay with 500 days to go to the Opening Ceremony of Glasgow 2026.

రైల్వే (సవరణ) బిల్లు 2024కు రాజ్యసభ మూజువాణి ఓటుతో 2025, మార్చి 10న ఆమోదముద్ర వేసింది. ఈ బిల్లును 2024, డిసెంబరు 11న లోక్‌సభ ఆమోదించింది. ఈ బిల్లు 1905 నాటి రైల్వే చట్టం స్థానంలో అమలులోకి వస్తుంది. రైల్వే బోర్డు మరింత స్వతంత్రంగా వ్యవహరించడానికి, దాని పనితీరును మెరుగు పరచడానికి దోహదపడుతుందని రైల్వే శాఖ మంత్రి అశ్వినీ వైష్ణవ్‌ పేర్కొన్నారు.

సైనిక దళాల శౌర్య యాత్ర

సైనిక దళాల సుదీర్ఘ మోటార్‌ సైకిల్‌ యాత్ర 2025, మార్చి 10న అరుణాచల్‌ ప్రదేశ్‌లోని వ్యూహాత్మక ప్రాంతమైన చాంగ్‌లాంగ్‌ జిల్లా విజయ్‌ నగర్‌లో ప్రారంభమైంది. 3,900 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరం సాగనున్న ఈ శౌర్య యాత్ర గుజరాత్‌లోని రణ్‌ ఆఫ్‌ కచ్‌లో ముగియనుంది. ఐక్యత, సాహసం, దేశభక్తి పేరుతో ఈ యాత్ర సాగుతోంది. ఈ యాత్రను విజయ్‌ నగర్‌లో నివసిస్తున్న 90 ఏళ్ల అస్సాం రైఫిల్స్‌ మాజీ ఉద్యోగి పదమ్‌ సింగ్‌ జెండా ఊపి ప్రారంభించారు. ఏక్‌ భారత్‌.. శ్రేష్ఠ్‌ భారత్‌లో భాగంగా రక్షణ విభాగం ఈ యాత్రను నిర్వహిస్తోంది. యాత్రలో అస్సాం రైఫిల్స్, భారతీయ సైన్యం సిబ్బందితోపాటు అరుణాచల్‌ ప్రదేశ్‌కు చెందిన నలుగురు పౌరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
