సీడబ్ల్యూసీ నివేదిక

భారత భూభాగంలోని మొత్తం 681 హిమనదాలలో 432 వేగంగా కరగడం వల్ల 2025 జూన్‌లో హిమనద సరస్సుల వైశాల్యం (మొత్తం 1435 హెక్టార్లు) పెరిగిందని కేంద్ర జల సంఘం(సీడబ్ల్యూసీ) తాజా నివేదిక వెల్లడించింది. 2011లో 1917 హెక్టార్లుగా ఉన్న హిమనద సరస్సుల విస్తీర్ణం ఇప్పుడు 2508 హెక్టార్లకు విస్తరించిందని తెలిపింది. ఈ హిమనదాలు లద్దాఖ్, జమ్మూకశ్మీర్, హిమాచల్‌ ప్రదేశ్, ఉత్తరాఖండ్, సిక్కిం, అరుణాచలప్రదేశ్‌లలో ఉన్నాయి.

ఈశాన్య రాష్ట్రాల్లో క్యాన్సర్‌ కేసులు ఎక్కువ

క్యాన్సర్‌ కేసులు ఎక్కువగా నమోదయ్యే ప్రాంతాల్లో ఈశాన్య రాష్ట్రాలు ముందు వరుసలో ఉన్నాయని ఓ అధ్యయనం పేర్కొంది. 2015-19 మధ్య ఆయిజోల్, ఈస్ట్‌ ఖాసీ హిల్స్, పపుంపరే, కామరూప్‌ అర్బన్‌తో పాటు మిజోరం రాష్ట్రంలో ఎక్కువ మంది ఈ మహమ్మారి బారిన పడ్డారని పేర్కొంది. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 43 జనాభా ఆధారిత క్యాన్సర్‌ రిజిస్ట్రీ (పీబీసీఆర్‌)లను విశ్లేషించి ఈ అధ్యయనాన్ని రూపొందించారు.  ఆ వివరాల ప్రకారం 2015-19 మధ్య 7.08 లక్షల క్యాన్సర్‌ కేసులు నమోదు కాగా 2.06 లక్షల మరణాలు సంభవించాయి. మహిళలు ఎక్కువ మంది ఈ జీవనశైలి వ్యాధి బారిన పడుతుండగా.. మరణించే వారిలో పురుషులు ఎక్కువగా ఉన్నారు. క్యాన్సర్‌తో బాధపడేవారిలో 51.1 శాతం మహిళలు కాగా చనిపోయేవారిలో వీరి సంఖ్య 45 శాతంగా ఉంది. అదే మొత్తం క్యాన్సర్‌ బాధితుల్లో పురుషుల వాటా 48.9 శాతం కాగా మరణాల సంఖ్య 55 శాతంగా ఉంది.

ఏబీసీ ఛైర్మన్‌గా కరుణేశ్‌ బజాజ్‌

ఆడిట్‌ బ్యూరో ఆఫ్‌ సర్క్యులేషన్స్‌ (ఏబీసీ) ఛైర్మన్‌గా 2025-26 సంవత్సరానికి కరుణేశ్‌ బజాజ్‌ ఏకగ్రీవంగా ఎన్నికయ్యారు. ఆయన ప్రస్తుతం ఐటీసీ లిమిటెడ్‌లో మార్కెటింగ్‌ అండ్‌ ఎక్స్‌పోర్ట్స్, ఐటీడీ ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్‌ వైస్‌ ప్రెసిడెంట్‌గా ఉన్నారు.  డిప్యూటీ ఛైర్మన్‌గా మోహిత్‌ జైన్‌ను ఏకగ్రీవంగా ఎన్నుకున్నారు. ఈయన బెన్నెట్‌ కోల్‌మ్యాన్‌ అండ్‌ కంపెనీ లిమిటెడ్‌లో చీఫ్‌ ఆపరేటింగ్‌ ఆఫీసర్‌ (పబ్లిషింగ్‌), ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్‌ డైరెక్టర్‌గా ఉన్నారు.

సెమీకాన్‌ ఇండియా సదస్సు

ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ 2025, సెప్టెంబరు 2న దిల్లీలోని యశోభూమిలో ‘సెమీకాన్‌ ఇండియా 2025’ సదస్సును ప్రారంభించారు. 50 దేశాల నుంచి ప్రతినిధులు ఇందులో పాల్గొన్నారు. ఇండియా సెమీకండక్టర్‌ మిషన్‌ తదుపరి దశలో 18 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్ల (సుమారు రూ.1.58 లక్షల కోట్ల) 10 సెమీకండక్టర్‌ ప్రాజెక్టులు మన దేశంలో రాబోతున్నాయని మోదీ వెల్లడించారు. డిజైన్‌ అనుసంధానిత ప్రోత్సాహక(డీఎల్‌ఐ)పథకం లక్ష కోట్ల డాలర్ల అంతర్జాతీయ చిప్‌ మార్కెట్‌ను సైతం అందిపుచ్చుకుంటుందని ఆశాభావం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ఈ సదస్సులో మోదీకి భారత తొలి స్వదేశీ 32-బిట్‌ చిప్‌ అయిన ‘విక్రమ్‌-3201’ని కేంద్ర ఐటీ మంత్రి అశ్వినీ వైష్ణవ్‌ అందించారు. ఈ చిప్‌ను చండీగఢ్‌లోని భారత అంతరిక్ష పరిశోధన సంస్థ (ఇస్రో)కు చెందిన సెమీకండక్టర్‌ లేబోరేటరీ రూపొందించింది. ఇది 32- బిట్‌ మైక్రోప్రాసెసర్‌.
