ప్రపంచ పుస్తక - కాపీరైట్‌ దినోత్సవం

ప్రపంచ పుస్తక - కాపీరైట్‌ దినోత్సవాన్ని ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఏటా ఏప్రిల్‌ 23న నిర్వహిస్తారు. దీన్నే ప్రపంచ పుస్తక దినోత్సవం అని కూడా అంటారు. రచయితలను గౌరవించడంతోపాటు ప్రజల్లో పుస్తక పఠనం పట్ల ఆసక్తి రేకెత్తించడం, సాహిత్యం పట్ల అవగాహన కల్పించడం ఈ రోజు ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశం.  మనిషి జీవనాన్ని ప్రభావితం చేసే అంశాల్లో పుస్తక పఠనం ఒకటి. గత సంఘటనలు, స్మృతులను తర్వాతి తరాలకు అందించడంతోపాటు సాంస్కృతిక వారసత్వాన్ని కాపాడటంలో, సాహిత్యాభివృద్ధిలో పుస్తకాలు ముఖ్య భూమిక పోషిస్తున్నాయి. రచనలపై సంబంధిత రచయితకు పరిమిత సమయం వరకు ఉండే హక్కే కాపీ రైట్‌.  చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం ఎంతోమంది ప్రముఖ సాహిత్యవేత్తలు, రచయితలు ఏప్రిల్‌ 23న జన్మించారు, మరణించారు. మాన్యుయెల్‌ మొజియా వల్లెజో, విలియం షేక్‌స్పియర్‌ (జననం - మరణం ఒకేరోజు) హాల్డోర్‌ లాక్స్‌నెస్, మారిస్‌ డ్రూన్‌ లాంటివారు ఈ రోజు జన్మించగా.. జోసెఫ్‌ ప్లా, ఇంకా గార్సిలాసో వేగా, మిగ్యుల్‌ డి సర్వంటెస్‌ ఇదే తేదీన మరణించారు. వీరందరి జ్ఞాపకార్థం యునెస్కో జనరల్‌ అసెంబ్లీ ఏటా ఏప్రిల్‌ 23ను ‘ప్రపంచ పుస్తక దినోత్సవం’గా జరపాలని 1995లో తీర్మానించింది.

భారత వృద్ధి 6.3 శాతం

ప్రస్తుత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరం (2025-26)లో భారత వృద్ధి అంచనాను 6.3 శాతానికి ప్రపంచ బ్యాంక్‌ తగ్గించింది. అంతర్జాతీయ ఆర్థిక బలహీనతలు, విధాన అనిశ్చితులు ఇందుకు కారణమని తెలిపింది. ఇంతకు ముందు భారత వృద్ధిరేటు 6.7 శాతంగా ఉండొచ్చని బ్యాంక్‌ అంచనా వేసింది. ప్రైవేట్‌ పెట్టుబడులు నెమ్మదించడం, ప్రభుత్వ వ్యయాలు లక్ష్యాలను చేరుకోకపోవడంతో 2024-25లో వృద్ధి నిరుత్సాహపరిచిందని ప్రపంచ బ్యాంక్‌ వెల్లడించింది. 2024-25లో భారత్‌ 6.5% వృద్ధిని సాధించినట్లు తెలిపింది.

గ్రాండ్‌ ప్రి టైటిల్‌

భారత గ్రాండ్‌మాస్టర్‌ కోనేరు హంపి ఫిడే మహిళల గ్రాండ్‌ ప్రి టైటిల్‌ను గెలుచుకుంది. 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 23న జరిగిన చివరిదైన తొమ్మిదో రౌండ్లో సలిమోవా (బల్గేరియా)పై గెలిచి ఆమె ఏడు పాయింట్లతో అగ్రస్థానం సాధించింది. పోలినా (రష్యా)ను ఓడించిన జు జినర్‌ (చైనా) కూడా ఏడు పాయింట్లతో నిలిచింది. కానీ మెరుగైన టైబ్రేక్స్‌ స్కోరు ఆధారంగా హంపి విజేతగా నిలిచింది. కష్లిన్‌స్కయా (పోలెండ్‌)తో గేమ్‌ను డ్రాగా ముగించిన దివ్య దేశ్‌ముఖ్‌ (5.5) మూడో స్థానం సాధించింది. బత్‌కుయాగ్‌ (మంగోలియా)తో గేమ్‌ను హారిక (4.5), సలోమ్‌ మెలియా (జార్జియా)తో గేమ్‌ను వైశాలి (4) డ్రాగా ముగించారు.

మెక్‌గిల్‌ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం పరిశోధన

భారతదేశంలో 80 శాతం నదీ ప్రవాహాలు యాంటీబయాటిక్స్‌తో కలుషితమై పర్యావరణ, ఆరోగ్య సమస్యలను సృష్టిస్తున్నాయని ఓ అధ్యయనం వెల్లడించింది. భారత్‌తోపాటు పాకిస్థాన్, వియత్నాం, ఇథియోపియా, నైజీరియాలు కూడా ఇదే సమస్యను ఎదుర్కొంటున్నాయని పేర్కొంది. ఈ పరిశోధనను కెనడాలోని మెక్‌గిల్‌ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నిర్వహించింది. బ్యాక్టీరియా కలిగించే వ్యాధులను నయం చేయడానికి యాంటీబయాటిక్‌ మందులను వాడతారు. ఇవి పూర్తిగా మానవ దేహంలో కలిసిపోవు. బ్యాక్టీరియాను నిర్మూలించిన తరవాత యాంటీబయాటిక్‌ అవశేషాలు కాలేయం, మూత్రపిండాల ద్వారా బయటకు విసర్జితమవుతాయి. మురుగు నీటి శుద్ధి కర్మాగారాలు కూడా వీటిని పూర్తిగా నిర్మూలించలేవు.  నదుల్లో కలిసిపోయిన యాంటీబయాటిక్‌ వ్యర్థాలు 31.5 కోట్లమంది భారతీయులపై దుష్పభ్రావం చూపిస్తూ ఉండవచ్చని ఈ అధ్యయనం అంచనా వేసింది.  2000తో పోలిస్తే 2015నాటికి యాంటీబయాటిక్స్‌ వాడకం 65 శాతం పెరిగిందని  గతంలో జరిగిన అధ్యయనాలు అంచనా వేశాయి.
