Padma Awards

♦ President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards to 71 individuals during a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on 28 April 2025. ♦ The awards honour their contributions in fields such as the arts, public affairs, science, and sports. ♦ The awards included four Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 57 Padma Shri recognitions. ♦ This was the first phase of the 2025 Padma Awards presentation. ♦ Renowned violinist L. Subramaniam received the Padma Vibhushan for his contributions to art. ♦ Former Suzuki Motor Corporation CEO Osamu Suzuki was posthumously honoured with the same award for contributions to trade and industry. ♦ His son, Toshihiro Suzuki, the current CEO, accepted the award. ♦ Among Padma Bhushan recipients were filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, actor and Andhra Pradesh legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna, actor S. Ajith Kumar, and the late singer Pankaj Udhas. ♦ Udhas’s wife, Farida Udhas, received the award on his behalf. ♦ Former Indian hockey goalkeeper P.R. Sreejesh was also honoured in this category. ♦ Padma Shri awards were presented to singer Jaspinder Narula and cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin for their contributions to music and sports, respectively.

పాకిస్థాన్‌తో ఏర్పడిన ఉద్రిక్తతల నేపథ్యంలో భారత నౌకాదళం నౌకా విధ్వంసక క్షిపణి పరీక్షలను దిగ్విజయంగా నిర్వహించింది. తద్వారా దీర్ఘశ్రేణి లక్ష్యాలను అత్యంత కచ్చితత్వంతో ఛేదించేలా పోరాట సామర్థ్యాన్ని చాటింది. ఇటీవల ఐఎన్‌ఎస్‌ సూరత్‌ యుద్ధనౌక నుంచి ఎంఆర్‌శామ్‌ క్షిపణిని భారత నౌకాదళం విజయవంతంగా పరీక్షించింది.

కొత్త సీఎస్‌గా రామకృష్ణారావు

తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వ నూతన ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి(సీఎస్‌)గా ఆర్థికశాఖ ప్రత్యేక ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి కె.రామకృష్ణారావు 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 27న నియమితులయ్యారు. ఆర్థికశాఖ పదవిలోనూ ఆయననే అదనపు బాధ్యతలతో కొనసాగుతారు. ప్రస్తుత సీఎస్‌ శాంతికుమారి ఏప్రిల్‌ 30న పదవీ విరమణ చేస్తున్నందున ఆమె స్థానంలో రామకృష్ణారావును ప్రభుత్వం నియమించింది.  1991 ఐఏఎస్‌ బ్యాచ్‌కు చెందిన రామకృష్ణారావు స్వస్థలం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లోని నంద్యాల. ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో నల్గొండ, మహబూబ్‌నగర్, నిజామాబాద్‌ జిల్లాల్లో సబ్‌కలెక్టర్, జాయింట్‌ కలెక్టర్‌గా, గుంటూరు, ఆదిలాబాద్‌ జిల్లాల కలెక్టర్‌గా, విద్యాశాఖ కమిషనర్‌గా, ప్రణాళికాశాఖ ముఖ్యకార్యదర్శిగా పనిచేశారు.

ప్రపంచ మేధో సంపత్తి దినోత్సవం

ప్రజల్లో సృజనాత్మకత, నూతన ఆవిష్కరణలను ప్రోత్సహించే లక్ష్యంతో ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఏటా ఏప్రిల్‌ 26న ప్రపంచ మేధో సంపత్తి దినోత్సవాన్ని (World Intellectual Property Day) నిర్వహిస్తారు. పేటెంట్లు, కాపీరైట్స్, ట్రేడ్‌ మార్క్స్, డిజైన్లపై ప్రజల్లో అవగాహన కల్పించడంతోపాటు అవి రోజువారీ జీవితంపై ఎలాంటి ప్రభావం చూపుతాయో తెలియజేయడం ఈ రోజు ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశం. చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం: 1967 జూన్‌ 11 నుంచి జులై 14 వరకు స్వీడన్‌లోని స్టాక్‌హోమ్‌లో యూఎన్‌ఓ సర్వసభ్య సమావేశం నిర్వహించారు. ఇందులో ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా మేధో సంపత్తి రక్షణ, సృజనాత్మక కార్యకలాపాలకు తీసుకోవాల్సిన చర్యలపై చర్చించి, డబ్ల్యూఐపీఓ కన్వెన్షన్‌ను ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని భావించాయి. ఇది 1970, ఏప్రిల్‌ 26 నుంచి అమల్లోకి వచ్చింది. 1974 నుంచి యూఎన్‌ఓకు అనుబంధ సంస్థగా పనిచేస్తోంది. ప్రస్తుతం డబ్ల్యూఐపీఓలో 193 సభ్య దేశాలు ఉన్నాయి.  డబ్ల్యూఐపీఓ కన్వెన్షన్‌ అమల్లోకి వచ్చిన తేదీని పురస్కరించుకుని ఏప్రిల్‌ 26న ‘ప్రపంచ మేధో సంపత్తి దినోత్సవం’గా జరుపుకోవాలని 2000లో డబ్ల్యూఐపీఓ తీర్మానించింది. అప్పటి నుంచి ఏటా దీన్ని నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. 2025 నినాదం: “IP and Music: Feel the Beat of IP”
