తెలంగాణ లోకాయుక్తగా జస్టిస్‌ ఎ.రాజశేఖర్‌రెడ్డి, ఉప లోకాయుక్తగా బి.ఎస్‌.జగ్జీవన్‌కుమార్‌ ప్రమాణ స్వీకారం చేశారు. రాజ్‌భవన్‌లో 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 28న జరిగిన కార్యక్రమంలో రాష్ట్ర గవర్నర్‌ జిష్ణుదేవ్‌ వర్మ వీరితో ప్రమాణ స్వీకారం చేయించారు.

సిప్రి’ నివేదిక

భారతదేశ సైనిక వ్యయం పాకిస్థాన్‌ సైనిక వ్యయం కంటే దాదాపు తొమ్మిది రెట్లు ఎక్కువని ప్రముఖ స్వీడిష్‌ అధ్యయన సంస్థ స్టాక్‌హోమ్‌ ఇంటర్నేషనల్‌ పీస్‌ రీసెర్చ్‌ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్‌(సిప్రి) వెల్లడించింది. ఈ మేరకు 2024కు సంబంధించిన నివేదికను 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 28న విడుదల చేసింది. సిప్రి ‘థింక్‌ ట్యాంక్‌-2024’ అధ్యయనం ప్రకారం.. భారత సైనిక వ్యయం 1.6 శాతం మేర పెరిగి 86.1 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్ల(రూ.7.3 లక్షల కోట్లు)తో ప్రపంచంలోనే ఐదో స్థానంలో నిలిచింది. అదే సమయంలో పాకిస్థాన్‌ సైనిక వ్యయం 10.2 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్లుగా ఉంది.  ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా అత్యధిక సైనిక వ్యయం కలిగిన దేశాల జాబితాను పరిశీలిస్తే అమెరికా, చైనా, రష్యా, జర్మనీ, భారత్‌ తొలి ఐదు స్థానాల్లో నిలిచాయి. ఈ ఐదు దేశాల సైనిక వ్యయం ప్రపంచ సైనిక వ్యయంలో 60 శాతం వాటా కలిగి ఉంది.

భారత నౌకాదళానికి అధునాతనమైన రఫేల్‌-మెరైన్‌ జెట్‌

భారత నౌకాదళానికి అధునాతనమైన రఫేల్‌-మెరైన్‌ జెట్‌ల కోసం భారత్, ఫ్రాన్స్‌ ప్రభుత్వాల మధ్య రూ.64వేల కోట్ల ఒప్పందంపై 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 28న సంతకాలు జరిగాయి. దీనికింద 26 రఫేల్‌-ఎం జెట్‌లు మన దేశానికి అందుతాయి. వీటిలో 22 సింగిల్‌ సీటర్‌ ఫైటర్లు కాగా.. మిగతావి రెండు సీట్ల ట్రైనర్‌ వెర్షన్‌కు చెందినవి. ఈ యుద్ధవిమానాలను విమానవాహక నౌక ఐఎన్‌ఎస్‌ విక్రాంత్‌పై మోహరిస్తారు. తాజా ఒప్పందంపై రక్షణ మంత్రి రాజ్‌నాథ్‌ సింగ్, ఫ్రాన్స్‌ సాయుధ దళాల మంత్రి సెబాస్టియన్‌ లెకోర్నులు సంతకాలు చేశారు. రఫేల్‌-ఎంను ఫ్రాన్స్‌కు చెందిన దసో ఏవియేషన్‌ సంస్థ ఉత్పత్తి చేస్తోంది. భారత వైమానిక దళం వద్ద ఇప్పటికే 36 రఫేల్‌ జెట్‌లు ఉన్నాయి.

యూట్యూబ్‌ కంట్రీ ఎండీగా గుంజన్‌ సోనీ

భారత్‌లో యూట్యూబ్‌ కంట్రీ మేనేజింగ్‌ డైరెక్టర్‌గా గుంజన్‌ సోనీ 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 28న నియమితులయ్యారు. దీనికి ముందు జలోరా గ్రూప్‌ సీఈఓగా సోనీ ఆరేళ్లు పని చేశారు. అంతకు ముందు స్టార్‌ ఇండియాలో ఈవీపీగా, మింత్రాలో సీఎంఓగా బాధ్యతలు నిర్వర్తించారు. బిజినెస్, టెక్నాలజీ, మార్కెటింగ్, ఇ-కామర్స్‌లో ఆయనకు రెండు దశాబ్దాలకు పైగా నాయకత్వ అనుభవం ఉంది.

పద్మ పురస్కారాల ప్రదానం

2025 గణతంత్ర దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటించిన పద్మ పురస్కారాల తొలి విడత ప్రదానోత్సవం దిల్లీలోని రాష్ట్రపతి భవన్‌లో 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 28న జరిగింది. రాష్ట్రపతి ద్రౌపదీ ముర్ము మొత్తం నలుగురికి పద్మ విభూషణ్, 10 మందికి పద్మ భూషణ్, 57 మందికి పద్మశ్రీలు ప్రదానం చేశారు.  తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలకు చెందిన జీర్ణకోశ వ్యాధుల ప్రముఖ వైద్య నిపుణుడు డి. నాగేశ్వరరెడ్డి పద్మవిభూషణ్, ప్రముఖ నటుడు, ఎమ్మెల్యే నందమూరి బాలకృష్ణలు పద్మభూషణ్‌ పురస్కారాలు స్వీకరించారు.  కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఈ ఏడాది గణతంత్ర దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా ఏడుగురికి పద్మవిభూషణ్, 19 మందికి పద్మభూషణ్, 113 మందికి పద్మశ్రీ పురస్కారాలు ప్రకటించింది.

Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI)

♦ Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) released a report, titled “Trends in World Military Expenditure 2024”, on 28 April 2025. ♦ According ti this India's military spending in 2024 was almost nine times higher than Pakistan's. ♦ India spent $86.1 billion on its military in 2024. That's a 1.6 percent rise compared to 2023. ♦ In contrast, Pakistan's military budget stood at $10.2 billion. ♦ India is now the fifth-largest military spender in the world. ♦ The top five — the United States ($997 billion), China ($314 billion), Russia ($149 billion), Germany ($88.5 billion), and India — together accounted for 60 pecent of global defence spending, with a combined total of $1635 billion. ♦ Global military expenditure reached $ 2,718 billion in 2024, an increase of 9.4 percent in real terms from 2023.

acquisition of 26 Rafale Marine combat aircraft

♦ India and France on 28 April 2025 signed a Rs.63,000 crore defence agreement for the acquisition of 26 Rafale Marine combat aircraft. ♦ The agreement was signed at the Defence Ministry headquarters at South Block in New Delhi.  ♦ The Indian Navy urgently requires new carrier-borne fighter jets to replace its aging MiG-29K fleet, which has faced operational challenges due to maintenance issues. ♦ The government-to-government contract includes the purchase of 22 single-seater and four twin-seater Rafale M jets, specially configured to meet Indian requirements and integrate with Indian aircraft carriers. ♦ The Rafale M jets will operate alongside the existing MiG-29K fleet on INS Vikrant, enhancing the Indian Navy’s combat capabilities. ♦ The Indian Air Force already operates 36 Rafale aircraft acquired through a separate deal signed in 2016, with squadrons based in Ambala and Hasimara.
