టీటీకి రిటైర్మెంట్‌ ప్రకటించిన శరత్‌కమల్‌

భారత అగ్రశ్రేణి టేబుల్‌ టెన్నిస్‌ (టీటీ) క్రీడాకారుడు ఆచంట శరత్‌ కమల్‌ (44 ఏళ్లు) ఆటకు రిటైర్మెంట్‌ ప్రకటించాడు. టీటీలో అతడిది 22 ఏళ్ల సుదీర్ఘ ప్రస్థానం. ప్రపంచ టేబుల్‌ టెన్నిస్‌ (డబ్ల్యూటీటీ) స్టార్‌ కంటెండర్‌ టోర్నీతో శరత్‌ టీటీకి వీడ్కోలు పలకనున్నాడు. మార్చి 25 నుంచి 30 వరకు చెన్నైలో ఈ టోర్నీ జరగనుంది. చెన్నైలో స్థిరపడిన తెలుగు కుటుంబానికి చెందిన శరత్‌ కమల్‌ భారత్‌లో మరే ఆటగాడు సాధించని ఘనతలు అందుకున్నాడు. కామన్వెల్త్‌ క్రీడల్లో ఏడు స్వర్ణాలు, మూడు రజతాలు, మూడు కాంస్య పతకాలు నెగ్గాడు. ఆసియా క్రీడల్లో రెండు కాంస్యాలు, ఆసియా ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లో నాలుగు కాంస్యాలు సాధించాడు. పది సార్లు జాతీయ ఛాంపియన్‌గా నిలిచిన ఒకేఒక్క ఆటగాడు అతడే. కమలేష్‌ మెహతా పేరిట ఉన్న 8 టైటిళ్ల రికార్డును శరత్‌ కమల్‌ తిరగరాశాడు.
