National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG)

♦ The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) launched the 9th Capacity Building Programme to boost digital governance for Sri Lankan civil servants on 26 May 2025. ♦ This programme aimed at strengthening their skills in digital governance and enhancing the effectiveness of public service delivery. ♦ Scheduled from May 26 to June 6, the two-week intensive training is hosting 40 officers serving in key administrative roles including Senior Assistants, Divisional Secretaries, and Deputy Directors. ♦ These participants represent vital ministries such as Public Administration, Defence, Health and Mass Media, and Education.

థైరాయిడ్‌ వ్యాధులపై ప్రజల్లో అవగాహన కల్పించే లక్ష్యంతో ఏటా మే 25న ప్రపంచ థైరాయిడ్‌ అవగాహన దినోత్సవంగా నిర్వహిస్తారు. దీన్నే ‘వరల్డ్‌ థైరాయిడ్‌ డే’ అని కూడా అంటారు. మహిళలకు వచ్చే ప్రధాన ఆరోగ్య సమస్యల్లో థైరాయిడ్‌ ఒకటి. ఇది నెలసరి సమస్యలు, బరువు పెరగడం, అలసటతోపాటు ఇతర రుగ్మతలకు కారణమవుతుంది. థైరాయిడ్‌ సంబంధ సమస్యలు, లక్షణాలు, నివారణ మొదలైనవాటి గురించి ప్రజలను చైతన్యపరచడం ఈ రోజు ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశం. చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం:  థైరాయిడ్‌ వ్యాధి గురించి అధ్యయనం చేసే లక్ష్యంతో 1965, మే 25న యూరోపియన్‌ థైరాయిడ్‌ అసోసియేషన్‌ (ఈటీఏ) ఏర్పడింది. వ్యాధి కారక అంశాలు, నివారణకు తీసుకోవాల్సిన చర్యల గురించి ఈ సంస్థ అనేక పరిశోధనలు చేస్తోంది. 2007, సెప్టెంబరులో జరిగిన థైరాయిడ్‌ ఫెడరేషన్‌ వార్షిక సర్వసభ్య సమావేశంలో థైరాయిడ్‌ నియంత్రణకు ఈటీఏ చేస్తోన్న కృషికి గుర్తుగా ఏటా మే 25న ‘వరల్డ్‌ థైరాయిడ్‌ డే’గా జరుపుకోవాలని సభ్యులంతా తీర్మానించారు. 2008 నుంచి దీన్ని ఏటా నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. 2025 నినాదం: "Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)".

ప్రపంచంలో నాలుగో అతి పెద్ద ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థగా భారత్‌

ప్రపంచంలో నాలుగో అతి పెద్ద ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థగా భారత్‌ అవతరించిందని నీతి ఆయోగ్‌ సీఈఓ బీవీఆర్‌ సుబ్రహ్మణ్యం వెల్లడించారు. దేశ స్థూల దేశీయోత్పత్తి 4.19 లక్షల కోట్ల డాలర్ల (సుమారు రూ.356 లక్షల కోట్ల)కు చేరుకుందని.. జపాన్‌ కంటే 4.187 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్లు (సుమారు రూ.35,600 కోట్లు) అధికంగా మన ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థ ఉందన్న అంతర్జాతీయ ద్రవ్య నిధి (ఐఎంఎఫ్‌) అంచనా గణాంకాలను ఆయన వెల్లడించారు. అమెరికా, చైనా, జర్మనీ తరవాత స్థానంలో మనదేశం ఉందని వివరించారు. ఐఎంఎఫ్‌ 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌లో విడుదల చేసిన ప్రపంచ ఆర్థిక భవిష్యత్తు (డబ్ల్యూఈఓ) నివేదిక ప్రకారం, భారత తలసరి ఆదాయం 2013-14లో 1,438 డాలర్లు (రూ.1.22 లక్షలు) కాగా 2025లో రెట్టింపై 2,880 డాలర్ల (రూ.2.45 లక్షల)కు పెరిగింది. 2025-26లో భారత జీడీపీ వృద్ధి 6.2 శాతంగా ఉండొచ్చు. వాణిజ్య ఉద్రిక్తతలు, అంతర్జాతీయ అనిశ్చితుల నేపథ్యంలో గతంలో అంచనా వేసిన 6.5% కంటే, వృద్ధిరేటు నెమ్మదించొచ్చు. అంతర్జాతీయ వృద్ధి 2025లో 2.8 శాతంగా ఉండొచ్చు. గత అంచనా కంటే ఇది 0.5% తక్కువ. 2026లో అంతర్జాతీయ ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థ 3%  వృద్ధి నమోదు చేయొచ్చు.
