2024-25లో 50 బి.డా. ఎఫ్‌డీఐ

2024-25 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో మన దేశంలో  విదేశీ ప్రత్యక్ష పెట్టుబడులు (ఎఫ్‌డీఐ) 13% పెరిగి 50 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్ల (సుమారు రూ.4.25 లక్షల కోట్ల)కు చేరినట్లు పరిశ్రమల ప్రోత్సాహం, అంతర్గత వాణిజ్య విభాగం(డీపీఐఐటీ) పేర్కొంది. 2023-24లో ఇవి 44.42 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్లు (సుమారు రూ.3.78 లక్షల కోట్లు)గా ఉన్నాయి. జనవరి- మార్చి త్రైమాసికంలో మనదేశంలోకి 9.34 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్ల ఎఫ్‌డీఐ వచ్చింది. 2024 ఇదే సమయంలోని 12.38 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్లతో పోలిస్తే ఈమొత్తం 24.5% తక్కువ. అక్టోబరు- డిసెంబరు త్రైమాసికంలోనూ ఎఫ్‌డీఐ 5.6% తగ్గి 10.9 బిలియన్‌ డాలర్లకు పరిమితమయ్యాయి.  2024-25లో మొత్తం ఎఫ్‌డీఐ (ఈక్విటీలు, రీఇన్వెస్టెడ్‌ ఎర్నింగ్స్, ఇతర మూలధనాలు కలిపి) 81.04 బి. డాలర్లుగా నమోదయ్యాయి. 2023-24 నాటి 71.3 బి. డాలర్లతో చూస్తే ఇవి 14% ఎక్కువ.

సీబీఆర్‌ఈ నివేదిక

ప్రపంచంలోని 12 ప్రధాన టెక్నాలజీ హబ్‌లలో ఒకటిగా బెంగళూరు నిలిచినట్లు స్థిరాస్తి సేవల సంస్థ సీబీఆర్‌ఈ తన ‘గ్లోబల్‌ టెక్‌ టాలెంటెడ్‌ గైడ్‌బుక్‌ 2025’లో వెల్లడించింది. ఈ నగరంలో టెక్‌ నిపుణుల సంఖ్య 10 లక్షల మార్కును మించినట్లు పేర్కొంది. ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా 115 మార్కెట్లను ఇది పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుంది.  ప్రధాన టెక్నాలజీ హబ్‌లలో మొదటి 11 నగరాలు వరుసగా.. బీజింగ్, బోస్టన్, లండన్, న్యూయార్క్‌ మెట్రో, పారిస్, శాన్‌ఫ్రాన్సిస్కో బే ఏరియా, సీటెల్, షాంఘై, సింగపూర్, టోక్యో, టొరంటో. ఆసియా-పసిఫిక్‌ ప్రాంతంలో బీజింగ్, షాంఘైతో పాటు అతి పెద్ద మార్కెట్‌గా బెంగళూరు నిలిచిందని నివేదిక పేర్కొంది. ప్రపంచ సాంకేతికత, ఆవిష్కరణల్లో ఈ నగరం కీలకంగా మారిందని తెలిపింది.

ప్రఖ్యాత నేపాల్‌ షెర్పాగైడ్‌ కామీ రీటా (55) ప్రపంచంలోనే ఎత్తయిన ఎవరెస్టు శిఖరాన్ని 31వసారి అధిరోహించి తన రికార్డును తానే తిరగరాసుకున్నారు. 8,849 మీటర్ల ఎత్తున్న శిఖరాగ్రాన్ని 2025, మే 27న కామీ చేరుకున్నట్లు అధికారులు తెలిపారు. ప్రపంచంలోనే అత్యధిక సార్లు ఎవరెస్టును అధిరోహించి మరెవరూ చేరుకోలేని ఘనత సాధించారు. గత రెండేళ్లలో కామీ రీటా నాలుగు సార్లు ఎవరెస్టును అధిరోహించారు.

తొలి ప్రైవేట్‌ హెలికాప్టర్‌ తయారీ కేంద్రం

దేశంలో తొలి ప్రైవేట్‌ హెలికాప్టర్ల తయారీ కేంద్రం కర్ణాటకలో ఏర్పాటు కానుంది. యూరప్‌కు చెందిన వైమానిక ఉత్పత్తుల సంస్థ ఎయిర్‌బస్, టాటా అడ్వాన్స్‌డ్‌ సిస్టమ్స్‌ (టీఏఎస్‌ఎల్‌)లు సంయుక్తంగా కర్ణాటకలోని కోలారు జిల్లాలో హెచ్‌ 125 తేలికపాటి హెలికాప్టర్ల తయారీ కేంద్రాన్ని త్వరలో ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నాయి. తొలుత 10 యూనిట్లు, ఆ తర్వాత 20 ఏళ్లలో 500 హెలికాప్టర్ల తయారీ దిశగా దీన్ని విస్తరించనున్నాయి. కోలారులోని వేమగల్‌ పారిశ్రామిక వాడలో ఏర్పాటయ్యే ఈ కేంద్రంలో హెలికాప్టర్ల తయారీకి స్వదేశీ సాంకేతికతను ఉపయోగిస్తారు. అలా తయారైన వాటిని దేశీయ అవసరాలకు, భారతీయ సైన్యానికి, ఇతర దేశాలకూ సరఫరా చేయనున్నారు.

ఆసియా అథ్లెటిక్స్‌ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌

ఆసియా అథ్లెటిక్స్‌ ఛాంపియన్‌షిప్‌లో 10 వేల మీటర్ల పరుగులో గుల్వీర్‌ సింగ్‌ స్వర్ణం నెగ్గాడు. 2025, మే 27న గమి (దక్షిణ కొరియా)లో జరిగిన ఫైనల్లో అతడు 28 నిమిషాల 38.63 సెకన్లలో లక్ష్యాన్ని చేరి అగ్రస్థానంలో నిలిచాడు. మెబుకి సుజుకి (జపాన్, 28 నిమిషాల 43.84 సె) రజతం, ఆల్బర్ట్‌ రోప్‌ (బహ్రెయిన్, 28 నిమిషాల 46.82సె) కాంస్యం సొంతం చేసుకున్నారు.  ఉత్తర్‌ ప్రదేశ్‌లోని అలీగఢ్‌లో పుట్టిన గుల్వీర్‌.. 2024 ఆరంభంలోనే 10 వేల మీటర్లలో జాతీయ రికార్డు (27 నిమిషాల 00.22 సె) నెలకొల్పాడు. 5 వేల మీటర్లలోనూ జాతీయ రికార్డు (12 నిమిషాల 59.77 సెకన్లు) అతడి ఖాతాలోనే ఉంది.

Quantum Technology Research Centre (QTRC)

♦ Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) inaugurated the Quantum Technology Research Centre (QTRC) at Metcalfe House, Delhi on 27 May 2025. ♦ The facility was inaugurated by Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO Dr Samir V Kamat with the aim to further strengthen indigenous quantum capabilities for strategic and defence applications.  ♦ QRTC is equipped with state-of-the-art experimental set-ups designed to propel research and development in critical quantum domains. ♦ The key capabilities of this centre include Characterisation of  Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers and Distributed Feedback Lasers; Test-beds for evaluating single-photon sources; Set-up for characterisation of Micro Fabricated Alkali Vapor Cell; and Experimental platforms for developing and validating Quantum Key Distribution techniques to enable ultra-secure communication and safeguard national security in the post-quantum era, spearheaded by Scientific Analysis Group (SAG), DRDO.

India's first private-sector helicopter

♦ India's first private-sector helicopter assembly facility is set to be established in Kolar, Karnataka. Airbus, the European aviation giant, and Tata Advanced Systems (TASL), the aerospace division of the Tata group, have come together to establish a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for H125 helicopters. ♦ The facility will manufacture Airbus' popular H125 civil helicopter for Indian and regional markets, becoming the fourth such installation globally after those in France, US and Brazil. ♦ Initially producing 10 helicopters annually, the facility will expand operations based on Airbus' forecast of 500 light H125-class helicopters being required in the region over the next two decades.

Kami Rita

♦ Nepal's Kami Rita (55) climbed Mount Everest for the 31st time on 27 May 2025, breaking his own record for the most climbs to the top of the world's highest mountain. ♦ He reached the 8,848.86-metre summit via the NorthEastern route. ♦ Kami Rita first climbed Everest in 1994 and has made the ascent almost every year since, sometimes twice a season.  ♦ He also holds the record for the most ascents of peaks above 8,000 metres, with 40 in total, including Cho-Oyu (eight times), Lhotse and K2.
