♦The President of India Droupadi Murmu has appointed Governors for five states on 24 December 2024. ♦ Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, who currently holds the position of Governor of Mizoram, has been appointed as the Governor of Odisha. ♦ General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.) has been designated as the new Governor of Mizoram. ♦ Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, currently serving as the Governor of Bihar, will now assume the role of Governor of Kerala. ♦ Arif Mohammed Khan, the Governor of Kerala, has been assigned the position of Governor of Bihar. ♦ Former Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been appointed as the Governor of Manipur.

దేశీయ విమాన ప్రయాణికులు 1.43 కోట్లు

2024 నవంబరులో దేశీయ విమాన మార్గాల్లో 1.43 కోట్ల మంది ప్రయాణించినట్లు పౌర విమానయాన డైరెక్టరేట్‌ జనరల్‌ (డీజీసీఏ) వెల్లడించింది. 2023, నవంబరులో ప్రయాణించిన 1.27 కోట్ల మందితో పోలిస్తే ఈ సంఖ్య 12% అధికం. * మొత్తం ప్రయాణికుల్లో 63.3% మందిని చేరవేయడం ద్వారా ఇండిగో అగ్ర స్థానంలో నిలిచింది. దీని తర్వాత స్థానాల్లో ఎయిరిండియా (24.4%), ఆకాశ ఎయిర్‌ (4.7%), స్పైస్‌జెట్‌ (3.1%), అలయన్స్‌ ఎయిర్‌ (0.7%) ఉన్నాయి.

5 రాష్ట్రాలకు నూతన గవర్నర్లు

కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం 2024, డిసెంబరు 24న మొత్తం 5 రాష్ట్రాలకు నూతన గవర్నర్లను నియమించింది. ముగ్గురిని ఒక రాష్ట్రం నుంచి మరోచోటకు బదిలీ చేయగా ఇద్దరిని కొత్తగా నియమించింది. * మిజోరం గవర్నర్‌గా ఉన్న ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌కు చెందిన కంభంపాటి హరిబాబును ఒడిశా గవర్నర్‌గా కేంద్రప్రభుత్వం నియమించింది. ఆయన స్థానంలో కేంద్ర మాజీమంత్రి జనరల్‌ వీకే సింగ్‌ మిజోరం గవర్నర్‌గా బాధ్యతలు స్వీకరించనున్నారు. జనరల్‌ వీకే సింగ్‌ 2014, 2019 లోక్‌సభ ఎన్నికల్లో గెలిచి కేంద్రమంత్రిగా పనిచేశారు. మరోవైపు ప్రస్తుతం ఒడిశా గవర్నర్‌గా ఉన్న రఘుబర్‌దాస్‌ రాజీనామా చేశారు. * కేంద్ర హోంశాఖ మాజీ కార్యదర్శి అజయ్‌కుమార్‌ భల్లాను మణిపుర్‌ గవర్నర్‌గా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం నియమించింది. ప్రస్తుతం ఆ రాష్ట్ర గవర్నర్‌గా ఉన్న అనసూయ ఉయికె పదవీకాలం 2024, జులై 30వ తేదీతో ముగియగా అప్పటి నుంచి ఆ బాధ్యతలను అస్సాం గవర్నర్‌ లక్ష్మణ్‌ప్రసాద్‌ ఆచార్య నిర్వర్తిస్తున్నారు. * మరోవైపు కేరళ గవర్నర్‌గా ఉన్న ఆరిఫ్‌ మహమ్మద్‌ఖాన్‌ను బిహార్‌కు, అక్కడ గవర్నర్‌గా ఉన్న రాజేంద్రవిశ్వనాథ్‌ ఆర్లేకర్‌ను కేరళకు కేంద్రప్రభుత్వం బదిలీ చేసింది.

National Farmers’ Day (Kisan Diwas)

♦ National Farmers’ Day (Kisan Diwas) is observed every year on December 23 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Choudhary Charan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India. Choudhary Charan Singh served as the Prime Minister of India from 1979 to 1980. During his tenure, he introduced various welfare initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of farmers.
