Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan

♦ Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme, Rs.4388 crore has been sanctioned for the states so far. PM KUSUM scheme was launched in 2019 and scaled up last in September 2023 to solarize agriculture.  ♦ The scheme is demand-driven and Central Financial Assistance (CFA) is paid to the State Implementing Agency (SIA) on achieving certain milestones in different components and as per provisions of the scheme guidelines by the states.

Pt. Swapan Choudhary

♦ Renowned tabla player of Indian classical music Pt. Swapan Choudhary of Kolkata was honoured with the “National Tansen Samman” for the year 2023. At the National Tansen Award an honorarium of five lakh rupees, citation plaque and shawl-shriphal was presented.  ♦ This award, established by the Madhya Pradesh government in the name of Music Emperor Tansen, is the highest national music award in the field of Indian classical music. ♦ Sanand Nyas, an institution of Indore, was honoured with the “Raja Mansingh Tomar Samman” for the year 2023. This institution has been working in the field of classical music, drama and cultural festivals in Indore for the last 35 years.

♦ Ram Mohan Rao Amara was appointed as one of the Managing Directors of State Bank of India (SBI) for three years on 18 December 2024. One of the MD positions in SBI fell vacant after CS Setty assumed charge as Chairman in August 2024.  ♦ Ram Mohan was holding the post of deputy Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer of the country’s largest bank until his appointment as MD. He started his banking career with SBI in 1991 as a Probationary Officer.
