పూర్వ ప్రాథమిక (ప్రీ-ప్రైమరీ) పాఠశాలల్లో మూడేళ్లలోపు చిన్నారుల చేరికలు 2022-24 మధ్యకాలంలో 75.8% నుంచి 77.4%కి చేరినట్లు ‘వార్షిక విద్యాస్థాయి నివేదిక’ (యాన్యువల్‌ స్టేటస్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఎడ్యుకేషన్‌ రిపోర్ట్‌-అసర్‌)-2024 వెల్లడించింది. గుజరాత్, మహారాష్ట్ర, ఒడిశా, తెలంగాణలు ఈ విభాగంలో దాదాపు సంపూర్ణ స్థాయి సాధించాయి. నాలుగేళ్ల చిన్నారుల చేరికలు 82% నుంచి 83.3%కి పెరిగాయి. 5 ఏళ్ల వయస్సు పిల్లల చేరికలు 62.2% నుంచి 71.4%కి పెరిగాయి. ప్రథమ్‌ అనే ఎన్‌జీఓ సంస్థ 2005 నుంచి ఏటా ఈ నివేదికను విడుదల చేస్తోంది. నివేదికలోని ఇతర అంశాలు: పాఠశాల విద్యార్థుల్లో చిన్నచిన్న హెచ్చవేత చేయగల సామర్థ్యం ఉన్న ఐదో తరగతివారి సంఖ్య 2022-2024 మధ్యకాలంలో 25.6% నుంచి 30.7%కి పెరిగింది. ప్రాథమిక అంకగణితం చేసే 8వ తరగతి విద్యార్థుల సంఖ్య 2022లో 44.7% ఉండగా, 2024 నాటికి 45.8%కి చేరింది. 3-4 ఏళ్ల పిల్లల్లో సగంమందికిపైగా అంగన్‌వాడీల్లోనే చదువుకుంటున్నారు. ఒకటో తరగతిలో చేరుతున్న అయిదేళ్లలోపు పిల్లల సంఖ్య (తక్కువ వయసు) క్రమంగా తగ్గుముఖం పడుతోంది. ఇలాంటివారి సంఖ్య 2018లో 25.6% ఉండగా, 2024 నాటికి 16.7%కి పరిమితమయింది.
