Indian Navy

♦ The Indian Navy has signed a deal with Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited for the design and development of a 6 MW medium-speed marine diesel engine on 2 April 2025. ♦ The prototype diesel engine, under the Make-I category, with indigenous content of over 50 percent will be developed at a cost of Rs.270 crore, with 70 percent funding from the government. ♦ The order also includes the development of a detailed design for a 3-10 MW diesel engine. ♦ The developed engines will be used for main propulsion and power generation on ships of the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard.

♦ The 7th India-Japan Maritime Affairs Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan on 2 April 2025. ♦ The Indian delegation was led by Joint Secretary (Disarmament & International Security Affairs) Muanpuii Saiawi and the Japan delegation was led by Deputy Director-General Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau Kashiwabara Yutaka. ♦ During the dialogue, the two sides conferred on ways to sustain a secure maritime environment conducive to inclusive growth and global well-being. ♦ Both sides also agreed to strengthen their shared efforts in areas such as Maritime domain awareness, countering Illicit Maritime Activities, capability development and capacity building activities.

రిజర్వ్‌ బ్యాంక్‌ ఆఫ్‌ ఇండియా (ఆర్‌బీఐ) డిప్యూటీ గవర్నర్‌గా పూనమ్‌ గుప్తా 2025, ఏప్రిల్‌ 2న నియమితులయ్యారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఆమె నేషనల్‌ కౌన్సిల్‌ ఆఫ్‌ అప్లయిడ్‌ ఎకనామిక్‌ రీసెర్చ్‌ (ఎన్‌సీఏఈఆర్‌) డైరెక్టర్‌ జనరల్‌గా ఉన్నారు. ఆర్‌బీఐ డిప్యూటీ గవర్నర్‌గా మూడేళ్ల పాటు గుప్తా పనిచేయనున్నారు. జనవరిలో ఆర్‌బీఐ డిప్యూటీ గవర్నర్‌ ఎండీ పాత్రా వైదొలిగిన తర్వాత నుంచి ఆ పదవి ఖాళీగానే ఉంది. ప్రధానమంత్రి ఆర్థిక సలహాదారు మండలిలో సభ్యురాలిగా కూడా గుప్తా ఉన్నారు.
