♦ Indian Navy Lieutenant Commander Yashasvi Solanki was appointed as the President's Aide-de-Camp (ADC).

♦ This is the first time that a woman officer of the Navy has been given the post of Ed-de-Camp of Supreme Commander.

♦ The President is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

♦ The President has been given 5 ADCs. Of these, 3 are from the Army, 1 from the Air Force and 1 from the Navy. 

♦ Yashasvi Solanki hails from Haryana. In 2012, she joined the Logistics Branch of the Navy under the Short Service Commission. 

Women have become ADCs before:

♦ In 2023, Squadron Leader Manisha Padi was made ADC to Mizoram Chief Minister Haribabu Kammbati.

♦ She was the first woman to become ADC to the Governor.

♦ Manisha is a 2015 batch Indian Air Force officer. 

♦ Earlier in 2019, Lieutenant Ghani Lalji was made ADC to Army Commander.

♦ She was the first woman to become an ADC to the Army Commander.

♦ Lalji was recruited into the Corps of Military Intelligence in 2011.
