♦ World Homoeopathy Day is observed each year on April 10 to raise awareness about the role of homoeopathy in healthcare and encourage more people to learn about it.
♦ It also marks the birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy.
♦ Samuel Hahnemann was born on 10 April 1755.
♦ The day originated in India in 1997 where homoeopathy has been widely used for a long time. Dr RK Manchanda, a well-known homoeopathic doctor, wanted a special day to talk about the benefits of this medical system.
♦ His idea gained support and by 2002, and a global group called the World Homeopathic Day Organising Committee was formed.
♦ This committee helps plan and promote events for the day across the world.
♦ 2025 theme: ‘Adhyayan, Adhyaapan, Anusandhaan’
