♦ The ninth General Assembly of the International Civil Defence Organisation designated the first day of March as a commemorative World Day of Civil Protection (Civil Defence) at the International Conference Centre in Geneva on December 18, 1990. 

♦ 2025 theme: “Civil Defence, Guarantee of Security for the Population.”
