♦ The day serves as a platform to acknowledge the efforts of accreditation bodies, conformity assessment professionals, and other stakeholders who uphold quality and integrity in their respective fields.

♦ World Accreditation Day came into existence in 2007 as a result of a joint effort between the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).

♦ The initial commemoration occurred in 2008.
