Union Public Service Commission has released the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2026 Notification for the recruitment of Medical Officer posts in various government departments.

Details:

1. Medical Officers (General Duty/Central Health Service): 864

2. Assistant Divisional Medical Officer (Railway): 450

3. General Duty Medical Officer (New Delhi Municipal Corporation): 14

4. General Duty Medical Officer (Delhi): 30

Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have passed the M.B.B.S. final examination from a recognized university. Those who are currently writing the M.B.B.S. final examinations can also apply. Those who have not completed their internship are also eligible to apply, but they will have to complete their internship by the time of appointment.

Age Limit: Candidates should not be more than 32 years as on August 1, 2026 (Candidate should not have been born before August 2, 1994). However, the upper age limit for Medical Officers Grade posts in Central Health Service is 35 years. There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD.

Salary: Selected candidates will get salary and allowances as per Pay Matrix Level-10 (Rs. 56,100 - Rs. 1,77,500). Along with this, Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) will also be available as per the rules.

Selection Process: The selection process will be in two stages:

1. Written Test (Part-I): It will be of 500 marks. It will consist of two papers (250 marks each).

2. Personality Test (Part-II): Those who qualify in the written test will be called for an interview or personality test for 100 marks.

Application Fee: There will be an application fee of Rs. 200 for General & OBC candidates. Women, SC, ST & Divyang are exempted from the fee.

Application Procedure: Candidates should apply online only through the website https://upsconline.nic.in. The Commission has advised that Aadhaar card details should be used as an ID document in the application.
