♦ The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has swept the general elections in Nepal. RSP has emerged as the clear winner in the election. By 8 MArch 2026, the party had won over 120 of the 165 seats in the House of Representatives that went to polls. The party also secured a clean sweep in all 15 constituencies across the three districts of Kathmandu Valley, according to Election Commission data.

♦ The RSP, formed in 2022 by Ravi Lamichhane. 

♦ The party-wise results in Nepal.. the Nepali Congress had 17 wins; the CPN-UML of ex-PM KP Sharma Oli only seven wins, plus three leads.

♦ Nepal recorded about 60% voter turnout in the March 5 election.

♦ The House of Representatives has 275 members - 165 elected through direct voting and 110 through proportional representation. Under the proportional system decided by total vote share, the RSP is also leading with a dominant share, followed by the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
