The Department of School Education, Telangana, has released the notification for the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TGTET)- January 2026.

Paper-I: For Classes I- V Teachers
Paper-II: For Classes VI- VIII Teachers
Eligibility:
Paper-I (Classes I-V):
Intermediate / Senior Secondary with 50% marks
(SC/ST/BC/PH: 45%) AND 2-year D.El.Ed / 4-year B.El.Ed / 2-year D.Ed (Special Education)
Paper-II (Classes VI–VIII):
Graduation (BA/B.Sc/B.Com) with 50% marks
(SC/ST/BC/PH: 45%) AND B.Ed / B.Ed Special Education. OR 4-year BA.Ed / B.Sc.Ed
OR
Language-related degrees for language teachers + Language Pandit Training
OR
B.E/B.Tech with 50% marks + B.Ed
(Final-year students of D.El.Ed / B.Ed are allowed to appear but cannot apply for TRT until qualified.)
Age limit: TGTET is a qualification exam. No age limit has been specified in the notification.
Selection Procedure: Computer Based Test (CBT)1
50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), 150 Marks
No negative marking.
Two separate papers: Paper-I & Paper-II
Qualifying Marks:
General/EWS – 60%
BC- 50%
SC/ST/PH - 40%
How to Apply:
Candidates must download the Information Bulletin, check eligibility, and then pay the fee online to obtain a Journal Number. After fee payment, candidates must fill out the online application on the official website, upload the required photograph & signature, verify the details, and submit. No physical documents should be sent.
Exam Fee:
Only Paper-I or Only Paper-II: Rs.750
Both Papers (I & II): Rs.1000
