Telangana Annual Budget for 2025-26

♦Telangana’s Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the state’s annual budget for 2025-26 in the Assembly on 19 March 2025.

♦ The budget has a total outlay of Rs.3,04,965 crore, with Rs.2,26,982 crore allocated for revenue expenditure and Rs.36,504 crore for capital expenditure.

Major allocations:

♦ The Education sector has been allocated Rs.23,108 crore, while Rs.24,439 crore has been earmarked for Agriculture. 

 ♦ The Panchayati Raj and Rural Development sector will receive Rs.31,605 crore, whereas Rs.12,393 crore has been set aside for Health, Medical & Family Welfare. 

♦  The Energy Department will receive Rs.21,221 crore. Additionally, Rs.40,232 crore has been allotted for the welfare of Scheduled Castes (SCs), while Rs.17,169 crore has been allocated for Scheduled Tribes (STs) welfare.

♦ On the economic front, Telangana’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at current prices has registered a 10.1% growth, reaching Rs.16,12,579 crore in 2024-25. 

♦ An amount of Rs.465 crore has been allocated for sports in Telangana.

♦ Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced a Rs.10,188 crore allocation for the Home Department, marking a Rs.624 crore increase (6.52%) from Rs.9,564 crore in 2024-25. This accounts for about 3.35% of Telangana’s total budget of Rs.3,04,965 crore.

♦ The Telangana government has allocated Rs.12,393 crore for the Health, Medical, and Family Welfare Department in the state budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, marking an increase of Rs.925 crore (8% increase) from the previous year’s allocation of Rs.11,468 crore. 

♦ Telangana Budget 2025-26 allocation for the Endowments Department is Rs.190 crore.

♦ Telangana Budget 2025-26 proposes Rs.775 crore allocation for the Tourism Department.

♦ Allocation for the Roads & Buildings Department in Telangana 2025-26 budget is Rs.5,907 crore.

♦ Telangana budget for 2025-26 proposes Rs.23,373 crore allocation for Irrigation & Command Area Development Department.
