♦ The government has extended the term of RBI Deputy Governor T Rabi Sankar for another one year till May 2026.

♦ This is the second one-year extension granted to him.

♦ Sankar is in charge of foreign exchange, currency management and government accounts department in the RBI.

♦ He was appointed as the Deputy Governor in May 2021. He was the Executive Director of RBI prior to that.
