♦ Justice Surya Kant, Judge of the Supreme Court was appointed as the new Executive Chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on 10 May 2025.

♦ The appointment will come into effect from May 14, 2025. Justice Surya Kant is currently the chairman of the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee.

♦ He previously served as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court and Judge in Punjab and Haryana High Court.
