The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade 'C' and 'D' for the year 2025.

Details:

Approximately 261 vacancies (tentative and subject to change).

1. Stenographer Grade 'C

Number of Posts: To be notified post department-wise allocation.

Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2025 (Born between 02.08.1995 and 01.08.2007).

Educational Qualification: 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized Board.

Skill Test: Dictation at 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for 10 minutes; transcription in 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi).

2. Stenographer Grade 'D'

Number of Posts: To be notified post department-wise allocation.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2025 (Born between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2007).

Educational Qualification: 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized Board.

Skill Test: Dictation at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes; transcription in 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi).

Eligibility Criteria:

Must possess 12th pass qualification.

Should have stenography skills in English or Hindi.

Age relaxation applicable as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM candidates.

Application Fee:

Rs.100/- only for General/OBC candidates.

Exempted: SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and all female candidates.

Mode of Selection:

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

General Intelligence & Reasoning - 50 marks

General Awareness - 50 marks

English Language & Comprehension - 100 marks

Skill Test in Stenography

Qualifying in nature.
