♦ South Central Railway has achieved its highest-ever freight loading since its formation, hauling 144.244 million tonnes of goods in the current financial year, 2025-26, surpassing last year’s record of 144.14 million tonnes and reaching this milestone a full week before the financial year ends.
♦ Coal and cement remain the zone’s strongest commodities, largely from Singareni Collieries and cement factories in the region. The zone also loaded iron ore, fertilisers, food grains, containers, and other goods, reflecting a conscious effort to diversify beyond traditional cargo.
