The former Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Sheel Vardhan Singh has been appointed as a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). 

♦ He worked as DG of CISF from November 2021 to December 2023.

♦ He is a 1986 batch IPS officer. 

♦ The Union Public Service commission has headed by a chairman and it can have a maximum of 10 members.

♦ UPSC member is appointed for a term of six years or until he attains the age of 65 years.
