♦ Senior IPS officer Alok Ranjan was appointed the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) chief.  He will be in this position until 30 June 2026. He is a 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He succeeded Vivek Gogia.
