♦ Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Adani Aerospace and Defence on 27 January 2026 to develop an integrated regional transport aircraft ecosystem in India. Under this MoU two companies will explore establishing an assembly line for regional aircraft in India and collaborate on manufacturing, supply chain, aftermarket services, and pilot training for the Regional Transport Aircraft (RTA) programme.

♦ The collaborative industrial partnership will also aim for a phased increase in indigenisation to advance India’s RTA programme, in alignment with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the UDAN regional connectivity vision.

♦ Embraer already has a notable presence in India. Nearly 50 Embraer aircraft operate across the commercial, defence, and business aviation segments, including the Indian Air Force’s Legacy 600 and Netra AEW&C aircraft based on the ERJ145 platform. Indian carriers like Star Air operate a fleet of 13 E175 and ERJ145 aircraft.
