♦ Ramoji group Chairman Cherukuri Ramoji Rao (88) passed away on 8 June 2024. He was born on November 16, 1936. Other companies owned by the Ramoji Group include Margadarsi Chit Fund, Ramadevi Public School, Priya Foods, Kalanjali, Ushakiran Movies. Rao was also the chairman of Dolphin Group of Hotels in Andhra Pradesh.

♦ In 2016, Rao was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award for his contributions to literature, journalism, and media.

♦ He had also got four Filmfare Awards South, five Nandi Awards and the National Film Award for his works in Telugu cinema.
