♦ Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam announced on 11 March 2025 that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be conferred with The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean, the highest national honour of Mauritius.

♦ This recognition marks a significant diplomatic milestone, as PM Modi becomes the first Indian to receive this prestigious award. It is also the 21st international award conferred upon the Indian leader by a foreign country.

♦ In a special gesture, PM Modi presented Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards to Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool and First Lady Brinda Gokhool. 

♦ Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Mauritius on 11 March 2025.
