♦ Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, DC, on 14 February 2025.

♦ During the meeting, Modi and Trump discussed various issues, including trade, defense, technology, energy, security, and people-to-people ties.

♦ They also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest. 

♦ The two leaders have jointly launched the US-India Compact for the 21st Century to foster deeper collaboration in defense, trade, and technology.

♦ In the area of trade and investment, Mission-500 has been introduced to more than double total two-way trade to USD 500 billion by 2030.

♦ Additionally, the leaders unveiled plans to establish a new 10-year framework for the US-India Major Defence Partnership, spanning from 2025 to 2035.

♦ Trump said that the United States will sell F-35 fighter jets to India, which would join the elite club of countries with the state-of-the-art stealth planes.
