♦ The New and Renewable Energy Ministry Pralhad Joshi said Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar, Muft Bijli Yojana has achieved a significant milestone by completing 10.09 lakh installations across the country as of the 11th of March 2025.

♦ He also said that Chandigarh Daman and Diu have achieved 100 percent of their government building rooftop solar targets, leading the nation in clean energy adoption.

♦ It highlighted that states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu are also performing exceptionally well, contributing significantly to the overall installation figures. 

♦ Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar, Muft Bijli Yojana was  launched on 13 February 2024.

♦ The scheme provides free electricity via rooftop solar to 1 crore homes, reducing reliance on conventional power and empowering citizens as energy producers.

♦ It also enables every household to contribute to climate change mitigation by reducing carbon emissions.
