♦ Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

♦ The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced this on 16 January 2025. This will be Prabowo’s first visit to India since taking office as President of Indonesia in October 2024.

♦ India and Indonesia have a long history of ties that have developed into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in recent years.

♦ Indonesia also plays a key role in India’s Act East Policy and its vision for the Indo-Pacific region.
