♦ The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) said that the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has recorded significant progress since its launch in February 2024, with over 26.19 lakh rooftop solar (RTS) systems installed across the country as of March 19, 2026. The scheme aims to achieve installations in one crore residential households by the end of FY 2026-27, as part of India’s push towards clean energy adoption.
♦ Since inception, the government has disbursed Rs.17,967.53 crore as Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to beneficiaries. The entire process—from application to subsidy transfer—is handled digitally, with the subsidy typically credited within 15 days of the consumer’s request, provided all details are correctly submitted.
