The 98th Oscar Awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on 16 March 2026. One Battle After Another won awards for Best Picture and Best Director, while Michael B Jordan clinched the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Sinners. Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley was named Best Actress. Director Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein emerged as a frontrunner in the Oscars race and won a total of three awards. Amy Madigan (Weapons) and Sean Penn (One Battle After Another), meanwhile, were named best supporting actors.
