♦ National Legal Services Day is observed on November 9 to celebrate the establishment of the Legal Services Authorities Act of 1987.
♦ The act, however, came into force on November 9, 1995, which is why this date is celebrated every year.
♦ It is on this date that the statutory body, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) was set up.
♦ To enhance legal literacy, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and its State and District counterparts have organised over 13.83 lakh awareness programmes between 2022–2025, reaching nearly 15 crore people.
♦ 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of NALSA.
