♦ National Integration Day is celebrated every year on November 19, marks the birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi, the first woman Prime Minister of India. She was also known as the 'Iron Lady' of the country. Born on November 19, 1917, she was the daughter of the country's first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru. 

♦ National Integration Day was officially introduced by the Indian National Congress in 1985 to commemorate Indira Gandhi’s contribution to India’s unity.
