♦ Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the National IED Data Management System (NIDMS) of the National Security Guard through video conferencing on 9 January 2026. He said the launch of NIDMS marks an important step towards strengthening India’s counter-terror framework.

♦ The Home Minister said NIDMS will play a key role in investigating terrorist incidents, analysing patterns of explosions, and formulating effective strategies to counter terrorism.  

♦ The new system aims to integrate these datasets and use advanced Artificial Intelligence-based tools for analysis. He said NIDMS would accelerate efforts to connect multiple data sources and strengthen internal security.
