♦ National Education Day is celebrated every year on November 11 to honour the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a prominent visionary, freedom fighter, scholar, and the first Education Minister of Independent India.

♦ This day was established by the Union Ministry of Education in 2008. 

♦ Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was born on November 11th 1888 in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
