Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Bharat Tex 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on 16 February 2025. He said India is currently ranked as the sixth largest exporter of textiles and apparel in the world, with textile exports valued at approximately Rs.3 lakh crore in 2024-25. India aims for a threefold increase in its textile exports to Rs.9 lakh crore by 2030, Modi said.
♦ He projected that India’s textile recycling market could reach $400 million in the next few years, while the global recycled textile market is estimated to reach $7.5 billion.
♦ Bharat Tex 2025 being held from February 14-17 at Bharat Mandapam, is unique because it brings together the entire textile value chain from raw materials to finished products including accessories under one single roof.
